Anyone heard of/used Privilege Removals - based N'ards I think ? Rang them today and they are a good £10ph cheaper than others in the area. Bit hesitant though to book them. They also offer free boxes.

    Hi

I have to bring back furniture and boxes from France and wonder what is the best option. Getting a removal company here or in France, get a container (how to go about it?) or do it myself with a van. Anybody had a similar experience? Can you recommend a company?

    Thanks

Hamilton Shipping in Belfast are good, we used them to bring back a container with furniture in it from Germany. Can't remember how much it cost though.

  • I need your help guys, as I'm getting more and more frustrated!! I've recently moved house and need to transport a few large items of furniture from The Worcester area to County Down, but am having a few ehadaches as to what method to use.

So far, I've been looking into hiring a van on the English side and having some relatives drive it across on the ferry, but herein lies the problem. It seems most of the van hire companies are confused in their geography and feel it necessary to charge for travel abroad, although the van would only be travelling within the UK  hence increasing the cost dramatically!!! Added to that the cost of the return ferry, it seems very pricey.

The only other option I can think of is to pack the items on a pallet and use a freight service to transport it, but I'm not too sure how pricey this is?? The quantity of stuff I need to move would be a medium sized van load, or two/three pallets.

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

hire a van here.. get it on the ferry, drive across, collect your furniture and drive back again.. you dont need additional insurance as its still in the UK

One of the reasons for the high cost of van hire 'abroad' to NI?

If it breaks down its very costly to retrieve it back to the mainland

I am moving house soon and I am looking for a reasonably priced removal company. I am in East Belfast. I would appreciate any advice on whom to use or not to use...
    Thank you
