it annoys me when no collection especially for a high value item, if im paying a lot of money i would prefer to collect with cash espcially if they have low feedback or poor feedback

Having been the victim of a stalker who got hold of my address and phone number through Ebay, I can more than understand why people don't want to encourage strangers to come to their homes.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A

if you dont want people to know your address dont use ebay as your details will be shown to the buyer at the end especially if you have listed cheque/postal order accepted, i accept sometimes it is not feasable to have visitors especially if you are selling hundreds of little items, but if i am buying something off of ebay for say £500 i want to see it before handing the cash over, personal thing

Buyers can only get partial addresses if the seller is a private (ie. not business) seller, and doesn't take cheques.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

Really? thats quite scary. Is it a case of they came and picked up an item and liked the look of you and started stalking you or a pre-existing stalker jut used ebay to get more info?

I always have collection welcome on my auctions, its usually only expensive or heavy items which get collected but have ahd a few small items too. I have also collected items and do a search for items locally if its something big.

Personnally I have never had an problems, but some people are quite unstable and probably shouldn't be aloud out alone.

I use the dreaded centred text, more than one colour and my listings are pretty long compared to other people's.

I don't allow collection either for safety reasons, and because it's always been such a pain in the posterior to arrange when I've tried it, but I will often deliver.

The last time somebody asked me for collection the lady wanted me to wait in all day for her hubby who was "bound to come through (my town) at some point" on his delivery job all so she could save about £2. in postage.

    No.

    I have a job.

    And a life!

Listings with no info on them is about the only thing that really bugs me.

A crappy dark blurry pic that could be someone's cat or someone's kidney for all I know and a "any questions please ask" is not a proper listing!

It was a seller I had problems with, I purchased an item from him and he turned up at my house with it. From then on I was pestered daily with phone calls, emails, visits, he even followed me to my workplace.I got from some very good advice from people on this forum and I ended it by reporting the matter to the police. I haven't heard from him since. I am sure 99.9% of people who use ebay are normal decent people. However you do hear stories of scamsters and threatening and abusive behaviour. After my experience I can understand why some people choose to specify no collection.
