Well its dried and pressed (for the 1st time) .....
I just had to fill a few gaps and then all the white in the wing had only half a stitch done-so that was fun ...loads of white stitching -anyway now I just need to add some back stitch and a few beads and then its done
-just need to figure out what to do with it
Jinty.... its horrible when you know that you aren't going to enjoy stitching something isn't it -especially when its something to give away..
Just think -the quicker you get that one done, the quicker you can get onto something lovely for yourself :T -thats all thats spurring me on to get my UFOs done...although I will probably still see a couple more birthdays befroe I get to start a new one
Right -off to get that done
happy stitching everyone
I'll be ok once I get going with this kit, its actually quite sweet. Its got "sketchy" backstitch which Ive not done before - any hints would be helpful!

I've decided to ditch the guilt re the kits in my stash and Im going to put them on ebay! Then if I make any money I'll buy stuff I really want!:D
I think I need to consider doing the same - I must have around 50+ unstarted kits (a lot of them are small ones though) most of which I will never do (just not going to be enough years in my life) :rotfl:
I feel bad that some of the ones I won't do have been given to me as gifts, but they just aren't kits that appeal to me tbh (samplers or teeny tiny stitches)Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Is the Margaret Sherry design made up by anchor? they always seem to have backstitch which is done between the holes (I avoid anchor designs for that reason)
If it is between the holes, then all I can recommend is a very sharp needle which will separate the fabric easier.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I think you're right about the sharp needle for the backstitch. I'll give it a go anyway.
BTW your pics are lovely esp the first one of the two mermaids, I love that!
Where is your Polish framer? If he's in/near Edin can you PM me his address?

The Tatty Teddy designs are a lot easier on evenweave too. Glad the UFO I'm working on is on aida though. Every area is covered so you wouldn't be able to tell, but counting out to different areas is easier on aida. Speaking of which, I should get my frame ready and get started. Wish it wasn't so hot. I'll be washing my hands every half an hour at this rate.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I'm terrified of evenweave - although I agree, it looks much nicer - I esp like the "rustic" types.
Ive never tried it, I keep meaning to try a small project to see how I go.

I do agree with the posts above, it does look much better when the project is finished.
I tend to use evenweave when it's a more 'fancy' picture (celtic ladies type pic as opposed to cartoony stuff iyswim)Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
