I vote every year against the directors remuneration package.

Unfortunately what Nationwide relies on is people going into the branches and being told to vote by staff.

These people because they are voting under pressure are more likely to tick the boxes that are highlighted so you vote the way they want you to.

I've voted against remuneration and directors only (I normally also vote against special resolutions but I am not particularly unhappy with the two proposed in this case).

    Do they publish the results?

    Are the votes binding?
Or do they just choose which to adopt?

    Yep.

    Yep.

And always go the way the board wants them to.

Well it helps if a member of staff stands over a member while they are filling in the form and the forms are designed to get people to vote the "right way".

The vote on pay is not binding, it is just advisory - so they get the message members are unhappy, then just ignore it saying it's what's required to keep the best people.

I am able to vote being a Cheshire member. Voted NO to everything!
The outcome is probably inevitable though because most returns will give the chairman the proxy?
I wonder why that option isn't at the bottom of the paper?

I don't normally bother voting but this year I thought I would give my vote to the chairman.

But now having read the strong views here on this I am with you all, I have just voted online NO.
