Calling all Summer 2010 brides!

Hi all,

I know there are other threads on 2009+ weddings but as time ticks by (and threads get longer!) I thought we might want a new one for us newbies...

How are people getting on with next year's weddings.

So far I have only:
*picked a date (which I know will cause problems cos it is a Monday!)
*ordered save the dates (which were unreadable, so we have had to reorder)
*picked and ordered my engagement and wedding ring (but they were supposed to have been ready nearly 2 weeks ago and aren't finished yet!)
*ordered OH's wedding ring (this has arrived but is the wrong size so we are having to reorder)
*ordered my dress (but it might not fit as it is from ebay)

Ho hum!

    I'm new :D
    So far we have decided on a venue, and almost decided on a date, either 31st July or 14th August :)
    I have no idea where to start! :eek:

    hello :) Our wedding is June 26th 2010, and I think I'm quite organised so far! Trying to get it all sorted as early as possible, in the hope that it will be less stress free towards the big day.

    So far we have:
    * Both church and reception venue booked and deposits paid
    * Dress and tailcoats bought
    * Button bouquets ordered
    * Photographer booked and deposit paid
    * Cupcakes ordered
    * Transport deposit put down
    * Band/DJ sorted and deposits paid
    * Black and white dance floor deposit paid
    * Veil bought and on it's way!

    ..I think that's all. My next step is to crack on planning/making the invitations whilst I have some free time before my final year of uni starts :D

    Be careful cos tulips wilt easily esp. in the heat (if you are going for real flowers)

    Although the appointment itself must be within a year you can book the appointment earlier (i.e. I can book an appointment now to see the registrar on 10/8) . And our register office allows you to book the wedding date once you have made the appointment - the appointment doesn't have to have taken place when you book. Thought this might be an important distinction for people itching to sort things out!

  • Mornin' y'all,

    June 2010 here. So far;

    • booked venue & paid deposit (holiday inn special offer package)
    • chose bridesmaids & started looking at dresses
    • got my wedding dress (from a sale, couldn't leave it in the shop!)
    • started buying flowers (artifical ones!)
    • considered cake options
    • provisionally booked photographer
    • made save the dates
    • started making proto-type invites
    • chose my ring
    Also started talking about options with the wedding planner at the hotel...most the stuff left to do are on the H2B side e.g. choose bestman, suits etc...isn't it always the way? Lmao!
    :TMSE B2B 4th June 2010! :T
