I love the "I will be writing to Watchdog" or "I will be taking this further with solicitors" type comments.
You have given them your card details and they have taken a payment, simple as that.
You will just have to try and get it back in 6 months time.
In the meantime you can reflect on your stupidity.0 -
Thats a bit harsh. Its true but still a little harsh.Thinking it over...:o0

I know, I have flu and I was feeling very grumpy earlier.
It just amazes me that people can be so foolish when desperate.
Even after the event it is still somebody elses fault though......0 -
You don't need a solicitor. Tell them you are making a formal complaint and want them to reimburse all extra costs you have incurred or you will take them to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Remind them they have a maximum of eight weeks to resolve the matter to your satisfaction.
That applies to any credit brokerage you are dissatisfied with - even if it only arranges credit as an ancilliary to its main business.
Having said that, you are not paying off debts if you are taking out a loan - you are merely rearranging it.
Unless you actually pay back fast than you borrow more and faster than interest is charged, you are not paying it off.0 -
Definitely avoid The credit People. What a scam. I paid £45 3 weeks ago for a loan that would be in my account within 3days! still waiting after numerous calls and can't get my £45 back-they say!!

HI - If you have handed over your card details - phone your bank and tell them that you have lost your card and they will cancel the card and issue you with a new one - if the payment has not already been taken, then they will not be able to take it anyway as the new card number, valid from and expiry date will all be different. The only downside is it takes 3-5 days for a new card to come through the post from bank so make sure you have enough cash on you to last through this period...thats what i have done..0

Avoid the whole lot of them. They are all snakes0
