have not done much as the bargain hunter in me has been looking for the best prices in guinea pig stuff :o

have done a LS survey for 80 pts and joined the netpulse on there where aparantly I will get 100 pts on monday and then 50pts each month and then 100pts at the end for dowloading some software.

DD went judo today. Was quite nervous about it, which isnt really like her. She wasnt really told what to do so she got upset about that when the others were doing things and she didnt understand the command. DS sat with me and watched and was disappointed that he didnt join in as they did games at the end, so he wants to do it next week too. I will have to dig out their old karate suits. So this is another added expense BUT they have stopped the other clubs they were doing. will cost me £22 a month but I am pleased they are doing something and its only a few streets away so not far to walk this time :)

We had a look at a few guinea piggies this morning and there was not a lot of choice, which was to be expected as we only want females. They had a lovely set of 3 that looked so lovely in the cage and two white ones were sat side by side in the wooden bridge and the light brown one was sat almost on top of them so when you looked through the bridge you could see all three faces staring back at you, so sweet. they also had another couple in another cage but the one my daughter took a shine too was a bit weary and I am not too sure whether to say yes as I want her to be able to interact with them (or she will get bored)
The lady said it was £50 for a pair and I nearly choked. I expected her to say about £30 which is what I want to pay. I have already paid out about £60 already.

She has taken my details and says she will ask the manager if I can have two girls for £30 as its usual the price of neutering the male that puts the price up. We would also have to wait as they have to see if the girls are pregnant and then they want to do a home visit.

I rang another rehoming and she said the same but £40 for mixed pair or £20 for two girls but she didnt have 2 girls at the moment. This lady also said she was against the c&c cages as they looked awful and were just like meccano. I came off the phone a bit disgruntled.

We went to another set up near us and they didnt have any at all. (the place looked a bit shocking anyway)

There is an advert on gumtree for some piggies which are only a few streets away but I am bit dubious to get them from a stranger as you never know how they have been kept or any illness etc.

I thought we would walk away with a couple of reserved chosen piggies today

On the money saving topic I have only spent about £11 so far in real money.
I have bought a cube and coroplast cage (which I found out about on the internet like these - cavy cages) and once that is done I will post a piccy. This has come from amazon, so free with my BP vouchers. I have got a few things from ebay so free with my profits. The coroplast, which is called correx here, you get from sign makers for the base and I went to a few sign makers but they wanted about £25. I then found a lovely company who had some used old signs and he said because I am doing it for the kids I could have it for free. I almost hugged him, he was so lovely. and because they were in parts I could get them in the car!!
Also got some off cuts of wood from homebase for 50p :)

    I must be mad!!

I love pigs - I had them when I was little (as did my mum) and we have some now - our only pets. They're great for kids - quite long lasting (in comparison to hamsters etc) and quite tough for small ones to handle.

There's always loads of hutches on freeegle here :( I've never seen the c&c ones - we've always had traditional cages.

Pigs are fabulous - have you tried the ads in your local paper (online version,of course!) - sometimes people sell them for £5/£10 each because they breed so well!

    Hope you find some soon!

I have been in contact with a lady that has some for sale a few streets away from me but I am worried about backyard breeders and whether the little things will be ok :( I have asked if we can go and have a look on Monday anyway before I make my mind up :o

Have been kid free today BUT with a late night last night I ashamedly didnt get up til 11am :o

Have done 7 signs for ebay (last few days sales) and got 30p on a scratchie site today which took me over another £10 which I have withdrew :) Good start to the month, the others are all low due to taking a couple out last month so will take a while to build up again.

I really need to pull my finger out as I need to sort out the front and back garden if we are going to have a home visit from the rescue centre. Kids are back at 4pm.

I want to start doing comps seriously again this month after seeing member of another forum I am on has won over £2k of prizes this year  thats serious comping :p I just need to find the time!
Also dooyoo is nearly done but still over 8k off  so time consuming

Hope you managed to get the garden sorted, and you're making fabulous progress. Seeing it all down in black and white shows how much you are achieving - so if you ever need motivation, look at those figures again.

I'm so bored today - I've been consigned upstairs with a cold, so I'm trying to find things to do. I should probably be comping as well. The problem I find is it is so difficult to fit everything in, what with working full time. The good news for my comping is I've managed to win 2 x Flip-camcorders on Pepsi last month. (OH likes his soft drinks so we'd have bought Coke anyway). One will go to my parents for their Christmas pressie and the other to my OH's parents, so we won't need to buy either of them a Christmas present. Very MSE. That said, I've won a lot less this year, but probably somewhere between 1.5 - 2k worth of prizes. These include a 21" flat screen TV with built in DVD, and a £250 clothing voucher. It does have rewards if you can motivate yourself to do it. What I struggle with is there is no guarantee, whereas I know if I do surveys at least I'll get something out of it (assuming I don't get screened out). I guess it's all about trying to find a balance, and hopefully the comping fairy will smile kindly on us for our efforts :)
June wins: 2 x Robbie Williams tickets, iPad mini, £200 skatehut voucher :)

A huge thank you to all posters xx
