GL GL GL. Hope you have a lovely night and keeping my fingers crossed you win.
And go you on the PPI claim.
Really glad to hear you are being nice to yourself. The money stuff will still be there when you feel up to it. I think we all go through these up and down bits don't we, so chin up and enjoy the child free time.0 -
didnt win boooo, but was a cheaper night out than I thought and was good to have a chat. She is quite a busy person and does a lot of stuff but she has family behind her to help out etc. I came to the conclusion that my life is on hold until my kids are slightly older as I have noone to help out I'd love to be a bit more involved in the school which would help me meet more parents, Being new and coming in later everyone is already in their little group of friends already, so you feel llike an outsider. Thats what I miss about the kids old school. But its not possible as I wouldnt be able to go to meetings etc. Plus I am not that outgoing!!!
Hope the PPI claim will go through quicker now, at least before xmas hopefully would be nice.MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

There are always opportunities, but sometimes we don't see them. Having kids is an advantage because you already have something in common with other parents. Nobody has too many friends there is always room for more, we just need to get you in. Try to start biulding up contact, day 1, smile at someone, day 2, say hello, day3 mention the weather, your in , be friendly they will be friendly back. Never think someone dos'nt want to know, they may be shyer than you, you could be doing them a favour, they may be having a low day, we all get them.
Take advantage of your kids and encourage friendships with kids, that have nice parents. Invite these kids round for a play date and ask mum if she wants to stay for coffee or sandwich lunch. Or suggest going to the country park with kids and parents, you can't not be friends after ice cream.
There,s a lot of waiting around, when picking up kids, your challenge is to make eye contact and talk to 1 person everytime you are waiting. It will get easier everytime, and you will get the reputation of being friendly.

Thats good advice, thanks. At the minute I have to drop or collect and run as I have to rush to DS2s school but in September things will be different when he starts DDs school and I will try and put some of that into practice. I do talk to a couple of the mums but just a general hello and not much more but thats a startMPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

hey pammy, just catching up. so sorry your definately well deserved holiday wasn't what it should of been. I could go red with embaressment on the spot thinking now about sometimes how I treated my parents when I was younger. They waited around quietly and let me do what I needed to do and now we are so close. I guess it is the bad bit about being a parent, all you can do is be there for him, one day he will understand how greater a mum you are. You'll get your money-saving mojo back I think sometimes when your down you need a break from it, what you've done has made a huge difference, when I 'm down I have to have a 'stat check' and that helps a bit.
Fingers crossed u win a big comp!Mortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!
Now just over 2 years we have taken on the challenge again! )(starting £237k Nov 2014) Current mortgage £232,399.82, current overpayment total £1550, years remaining= 170 -
thanks gerbiljo
I have had another bad day today. Mostly my fault but I sat and watched DS2s sports day today on my own. Only one mum spoke to me as she was passing. There were a group of mums and dads who were all really close and they all do things together and go out to parties etc and I sat and listened as they all laughed and joked and it just made me feel more and more depresssed that I wish i had that. I wish I was in a nice group of friends.
Then had another run in with kids dad. He has moved a little further away and so now he says he cant have the kids for too long when he has them for tea as he will just pick them up from school and take them pizza hut and drop them back as its too far to take them home and bring them back! DD is getting older now and she shouted is it even worth him picking us up at all.
I told him that DD has been worried and complaining about her little sister and stepmum as she says they arent being nice to her. He replies with she is not behaving very well lately and he reckons its since she changed schools.
I dont know how to deal with it, I believe DD partly but I do know she can be a pain sometimes. I have just told him to be careful with her and she is getting older now and more aware of what is going on.
I feel really low and almost trapped in a world that is against me. Nothing seems to go right. yes I know I have more than most people and we have just been on holiday and I should be grateful which I am, but I just feel really lonely and stuck in a rut and I hate being miserable. My life is just on hold until the kids are a bit older (about 4 years arrghhhh!)
Sorry this diary has turned into my depressive diary! Sometimes I really hate my life.
On a money note:
had a NV £2
30p on onepoll
got £5 on scratchie yesterday and so only 20p away from withdraw and only 10p on another-see I can smile!
