yeah I almost took the letter back off her but thought at the end of the day she would quickly dump my kids if she needed to get a normal job. I dont know how I am going to deal with dropping the kids off at easter. as she owes me four days as i pay an average amount each month :o

    bad bad timing eh?

kids are really excited about going to holiday club instead though :)

right have saved cash and bought son tesco vouchers for karting for his birthday instead of silverstone so I am going to OP £60 today.

Have booked £150 vouchers for a meal at a pub near mum and bowling too for 9 of us. Feel really great that I can 'pay' for it for everyone as two of my sisters arent working at the moment.

Having found the extra tesco vouchers I have decided to use them to pay for a home learning course for sage computer accounts. Am really excited now and want to start straight away!!!

On the down side I dont have as many vouchers as I thought as some had been used already :( so only have £16 (£64) left lol, will pay for a day out somewhere and we have a great night out planned and have bought sons karting day for bday so have got a lot out of them and this course is to expand and better my career so worth it.

Will have to get back into tesco points again to pay for the next course after as this one is £271

well as this is my diary and albeit my mortgage free diary I feel that in my quest to have a better paid career I can justifiably talk about my journey to change my career here too and I am mostly talking to myself anyway haha so its just for me to look back and see if I keep it up in the first place and if I do how far I will go with it!

I did order some home learning vouchers with tesco CCs BUT on joining a book-keepers forum a few have suggested buying a workbook from amazon (with vouchers of course!!) and teaching myself as the level 2 computerised sage accounts is an open book at home exam with two weeks to complete. So I have bit the bullet and done it that way instead! I need to read over my notes and coursework from level 1 manual as it has been nearly 2 years since i completed it and I need to refresh.
I am now waiting for my book to arrive and I have also borrowed some books from the library today while I wait.
I need to find a way of getting some mock/past papers for free as they are £5 each. The actual exam is £25 so not a big payout should I fail (ever the optimist!!) and have to do it again.

Once I have done level 2 and 3 (hopefully) I will then attempt payroll if only to have it on my CV. I do use basic sage accounts at work but on looking at AAT qualifications it looks like you have to have a job in accounts of some sort. If push comes to shove I could do bits of what our accountant does as she has ok'd it but I dont want my boss to know I am doing this to move on (if you know what I mean) so I doubt I would be able to.

What I need is to get as far as I can and then maybe get a job that will take me through the rest?? who knows?

Now if I could get a better paid job, it wont neccessarily mean I will have more money coming in at the moment as I am on working tax credits being a single parent. Any extra money I earn will mean I get less benefits BUT I see this as the groundworks for when the kids are that bit older and I can work more hours when they dont need me to take them and pick them up from school (approx 3 to 4 years) and then to progress from there to poss a full time job.

Sorry to anyone who reads this for the ramble but i need to get this out of my head and written down so to speak.

Overpaid another £100 today so figures updated below. adding this to next months figures plus the usual £100 added to monthly payout each month

    Actual payments: Jan, £1,127; Feb, £1,127 March, £1,356 April £794 (Total = £4404)

    Original scheduled payments: Jan, £594; Feb, £594 March £594 April £594 (Total = £2,376)

    Payments over/above original schedule: Jan, £533; Feb, £533, March £762 April £200 (Total= £,2028)

Interest per day: Jan, £13.41; Feb, £13.29, March (rate went to SVR) £7.83 April £7.73

Mortgage balance: Jan, £82,377: Feb, £81,648: March, £80,655 April, £80,099

% of mortgage now paid off: Jan, 8.5% ; Feb 9.28%; March 10.39% April 11.01%

% of house now owned outright: Jan, 31.35%; Feb 31.96%; March 32.79% April 33.35%

So far this year paid off the balance: £83, 088 - £80, 099 = £2989 (when aprils MP comes out on thursday)

    Interest paid £4406 - £2989 = £1417

    Without OPs my figures would stand at - £85,210 (bal) - £2580 (MP) + £1480 (int) = £84110
Without OPs balance paid off would ONLY be: £1100

Sorry for all the jargon just nice to see it all typed up so I can refer back to it in 3 months time again :D
