I have been going through level 2 AAT award for bookkeeping examples and it is brilliant to go through and see what I know already. I have seen that I can do the assessment on its own without the course (I already have coursework from Ideal schools and also going through things online and in books so i can hpefully cover all basis!

Have done about 3 hours studying on and off throughout the day. I am flicking between my ideal schools coursework and AAT online study that I have found, a sort of snapshot of their ABC course which has examples and tests (which are brilliant to test you have understood and wish I could do the whole course like that)
I am thinking if I can study for the next 6 months I can possibly do the AAT exam in December for the foundations. But I may be talking out my backside as havent looked into it properly to see what could be involved in the exam just yet.
Just looked at the fees and it seems I would have to register in September to do the exam in December.
Admin fee is £34, student registration is £74 and the foundation exam is £42 and the ABC exam is £36.MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Well done on the study :T
I need to get motivated to do some of my own. Work offered to may for me to do some more exams in June, so it seemed silly to turn them down. But I have to admit I am finding it very hard to get motivated and get my but in gear to strat studying. Especially with the weather so good!!:rotfl:Just looked at the fees and it seems I would have to register in September to do the exam in December.

As I've said before, try not to think of it as a cost but as investment in your future. Thos dates sound about right to me. Don't forget about the registration, I knwo someone who missed it. They tried to apply for exams in december and then couldn't sit them!!
Hope your well and keep up the good work with the studying.Mortgage @ 01.06.10 £165,999Mortgage @ 31.10.13 £14,6640 -
I have read that they are changing the way the exams are done after september and some are going to be computer based (cbe) and will be able to do them all through the year and not just twice. That will be really good. and hopefully youi would get your results quicker as well.
I havent done any study this weekend with the weather soooo good I love being out in the garden. I have been working though as my garden needed a LOT of work but it is looking like a nice garden again now
Got some plants off a lovely lady on freegle today (a couple of rose bushes and some shrubs) and have planted most of them, the rose bushes didnt like me though and they better take now I sacrificed my hands!!Kids were asking why I was planting sticks though!!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Yeah, what I think I am going to do is go through my coursework and library books and online sites. And once I am confident enough with ABC modules I will register. I have until September so going to pace myself rather than try and rush it. I may even be confident enough to go for foundation.
What I think I need to do is see if I can get a past paper in foundation and see what I need to know about.
Do you know what the main difference is in ABC and foundation?MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

well I have had a bit of a traumatic day
Today was the day that we found out about infants and junior school admissions and I was waiting to hear about DS2 and the fact that he goes to a primary school in another town 10 mins away from his sister who goes to school a few streets away. For the past 6 months I have been stressing and running around getting them both to school 10 mins apart!
So today was going to be the day I found out whether DS2 got into the junior school with his sister and therefore making my life much rosier and moneysaving!
WELL it took a while to get onto the site to check (if you did the application online then you could check the result online) It kept telling me my password was incorrect but I kept trying for about an hour as I knew it wasnt. It was quite slow as I imagine there were lots of parents checking.
Well when i finally got on it said that I had had to resubmit my application and therefore it had not gone through
I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!!!!
I just broke down at work. I had been so looking forward to seeing his acceptance since September when I appied, I didnt even think that I would have to check as I had had an email to say thank you for your submission, here is your choice etc
After I had calmed down a bit (crying in front of your boss isnt good!) I asked if I could ring the council which he allowed.
Waiting and trying to get through along with so many other worried parents no doubt I was on the phone for a good few minutes.
Finally got through and gave all details and was then confronted by an asian lady who had not one ounce of compassion and made me even more infuriated. She was saying things like well you should have rang to check (err thats why I did it online!) and other things like he is in a primary school and therefore it wasnt automatic that he was put forward for admission. ERR what??
Then she said that the application was there but as I had gone into it at some point and not resubmitted it somehow that had taken the application off. I had not changed any details and therefore didnt think i would have to resubmit, I was just checking the details about his sister at the school was on there.
She said she would look into it but then I got an email saying they cannot do anything but I will have to wait until reconsideration day May 21st. But all the places had been filled. arrghhh
I emailed the Head of the school and told him what was going on, he emailed me back and told me that he would look into it and the funny part - to calm down!!
I was getting so frustrated and angry and upset as the day went on.
he then rang me and said that the head of the infants has had the same problem with some online applications not gone through either and they had siblng links! Glad it wasnt just me then. He said he was annoyed and that it was a church school and families should be together and how stupid it all was.
I came off the phone feeling a bit better but knowing that it probably wouldnt be sorted any time soon.
After all the emotions had risen I then came home to an email from admissions saying that they had spoken to the school and they were happy to say that DS2 has been given a place...phew! Just like that!
I love the school head:D
SO the result of todays drama and my emotional rollercoaster is that I will save time and money with BOTH my children going to the local school from September. I can't begin to tell you how great it feels :j
Hopefully this will save me about £30 in petrol a month and about 40 mins a day travelling!
Now all I need to do is pass AAT foundation and get a job local and I will be sorted! Not much to ask but phase 1 complete!!!
(sorry for the essay but today has been a bit of a nightmareMPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987
