Pammy!!!! Lovely to see you. xxx

No idea hon to the question, but how well are you doing so far this year? I thought we were doing ok, but we have had a lot of refunds and inheritance so far. You really are doing something to admire.

I don't know how you do it, and I am going to keep watching and try and emulate. :D

Thanks you know sometimes I dont know how I do it either on my own. I think there is no way I would have saved £6k if I wasnt OPing, the money would have just disappeared on daft things. I dont do anything special (other than ebay and some surveys) and live frugally.
Thanks for your kind words :)

I'll second Michelle's words. It's amazing what you're doing on your own, well done and keep up the good work.

We've said before hon we have similar aims and spare cash, and you somehow just take it that much further. When I look at the fact we have had several thousand of gifts and refunds, we have not done that well really if we hadn't. Yes I have enough discipline to not just go and blow it, and yes I work hard at what I do, but you just take it further, and you have had breaks this year already. I can't wait to see your end of year posts as I know it will be so special.

Thank you that means a lot for you to say that. People I know just dont understand why I am bothering. I keep thinking if I dont move I could possibly be MF in just 5 years. As it stands its 8 years 8 months. 9 months off my initial target. :)

  • Pammy that's brilliant :) You're taking months off the mortgage - what a feeling it will b when you get there! It's not the journey that's important, it's getting there, and the skills and procedures you learn that will be the thing you learn on the way - and keep you in good stead.

I know exactly where you're coming from so keep up the good work. I have read how you get websites focussing on anorexics and how that sadly "inspires" them to become unhealthy. This site on the other hand has the same input but encourages you and praises you for your journey and it's beneficial to you :)
Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved

Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045

Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 2037

I guess I feel a special link to you too Pammy as we started our diaries almost at the same time, and I bet we end up finishing near the same point too. I agree there with OM completely, this is just like one of those sites, but we are all focussing on being that slightly better version of ourselves in the future without this burden.

We may have our good and bad days, but I know I can rely on so many here for that shoulder in times of need or the boost when it is going well, and I am sure it all helps us do it better.

Well done Pammy. Those figures are amazing.

Sorry I don't know why they don't add up, though.

So far I have paid towards the mortgage in OPs and MPs - £11,570.08
Amount that has come off the balance - £8,515.00
that means a difference of £3,055.08 which I dont understand as this is not the interest stated on my SS, that is under 2k? does anyone know why this is?

    Em, no :o

Cut off the rest of the sentence Pammy and it still makes sense ;).

You have done remarkably well Pammy, what a success, only 7 months in and with a holiday under your belt & another to come :T. Well done, you are a proper MSE *
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Absolutely amazing OP's, well done Pammy. No idea about the figures not adding up either, maybe the system can't keep up with the rate you overpay! :D
