  • Feeling rather gutted... my cough has got worse and developed into a full-on cold as well, off worse and feeling really, really rough.
I don't think I am going to be able to do my 56 mile walk this weekend as I really will not be in a fit state... there is always next year, but it's just gutting after all the training etc!
  • Awww poor you Luckystepho. No it doesn't sound like you should be doing the walk this weekend for sure! I know it must be frustrating but try and feel positive that you have done all this training and it has helped in your FF as well as DF quest!

Keep going when yo are better....you never know when you might see another entry form for another walk.

Keep warm & well fed darling!

    Hugs.

  • Thanks a lot Looking Ahead, you are right, I will just rest and pick up the exercise when I'm better, there is always next year.

  • Right, just a quick note to say that I am going to join the fun (?!). I'd like to lose a stone and a half (as per signature) but really aim to eat more healthy, any weight is a bonus!

Along with my savings target, this should keep me in line for the next few months. Not sure how often I'll update on my progress, but will try and keep my signature updated as much as possible.

Well done and good luck to all those here already!

welcome welcome pivotal gubbins to the cuddle!!!

Where are all our regulars?! I want updates!!! ;)

I am pleased with myself at the mo, I've been swimming 6 times in the last 8 days, and I did about half an hour in the gym too on 2 of those days :T Obviously this is only possible cos I'm an unemployed layabout right now  :rotfl: and I might not be so energetic when I'm working but in the meantime it feels great :D

I've approached it with a different attitude than i usually do - I'm just going each day with the intention of enjoying myself and doing a bit of exercise. A couple of days I've genuinely not felt like it but I haven't beaten myself up about it like I normally would. I've not spent hours there doing a punishing regime or anything - I'm realising 'little and often' is a good motto for me cos it keeps it fun and doesn't feel like too much hard work, lol :rotfl:

I hope my fellow cuddlies are well!

    Kath x :D

Hi kathfisch, you're doing really well on the exercise front - keep it up!

Welcome to the cuddle pivotalgubbins! :)

I do about 20 minutes walking each day (from work to the bus stop), plus I walk to work once a week (around 45 minutes) and trying to increase this to twice a week, but only managed once last week!

I haven't weighed or measured myself for a while (possibly coming up to eight weeks?), and I am starting to get really curious to see if I've lost any lbs or inches, was using my Mum's scales, but they're broken! So, I've decided to splash out on some body fat monitor scales and will report back with the news... will be pleased with even 1lb loss, just hope I haven't gained anything! I was struggling for a while, but seem to have regained control of my eating for now! Don't know what I'll be like in the Autumn/Winter with eating though as these are my worst times for comfort eating as I really hate the dark cold nights...
  • Well done Callisto and Kathfisch, and welcome to pivotalgubbins!

I haven't done much exercise at all this week as this cold/ bad chest has really taken it out of me, and have been eating chocolate plus McDonalds so daren't weigh myself!! But reading this thread is a great kick up the watsit!!

I am going to start easing myself back into the exercise next week. Keep up the good work everybody! x

    Hiya!

I don't know if this is new information or not, but it is for me - I'm a healthy eater, relatively, but a sucker for curry. I always fry a few poppadoms but my OH just told me his mum always popped 'em in the microwave for 45 secs, without ANY oil (it says on the box you can do this, but after dripping oil on) - anyway, microwaved and without ANY oil, they taste exactly the same as normal! Delicious AND much healthier

    No more denying myself curry!
  • Okay, I'll admit it! I was slacking this week :(

markrmagee: You are counting your calories expended through exercise - are you counting those through food?

3500 calories is approx 1lb of body fat (Though of course, you might lose some muscle etc too).
