kaz - do you actually know what's in all those boxes?
  • kazmeister - that was a really nice thing to do, sharing the pics of your rooms. I think everyone worries that everyone else is tidier/richer/thinner/happier/calmer/etc/etc and it can make you feel like a complete loser in life. It just goes to show that behind closed doors we've all got our...well...less perfect sides! Thanks for sharing. :T

    Evening all

Thank you for all your positive vibes for BF's interview. He's still waiting to hear. Can't decide if that's good or bad

Anyway, I had a very productive day at work. If only I had internet access, I'd get everything done ;) I took in change of address forms and got them sorted (yes, it's been nearly a year ). Started menu planning. Sorted out dentist appt. Made some lists. Happy days :D I've also been spending time with my lovely nieces and nephew who are visiting from Oz.

pigpen - love the pic...wee smashers, all of them

kaz - thank you for sharing. Your bedroom is a fab space!

I think a lot of hugs are needed all round. How is Michelle? Anyone in touch with her? xx

Rosep - glad you're having a good holiday.

Kazm - thank you for the pictures. I've done that before. Sometimes, it's the only way you can go forward - you just KNOW someone's going to ask for the after pictures! And with that many pairs of shoes, we might just have to start calling you Imelda! And I'm with Greenbee - do you know what's in all those boxes and do you need to keep it all?

We've talked about a flylady swat team before. I really wonder if we could organise one by regions - a team of local flyladies goes in and helps sort out!

this is it - you must have needed that snooze - and well done on your hubby telling the kids not to wake you..

I've done some OU study this evening (final assignment is due in by 10th July so I need to start working on it). I need to go out with the camera again soon. Not tomorrow though because I'm waiting for DS's phone to arrive ~sigh~ At least they've confirmed this evening that it is due for delivery tomorrow.

The survey for the kids new place has come back OKish. The surveyor reckons it's good enough for the mortgage they want as long as 'essential works' are done. The essential works relate to evidence of damp. I guess they need to get the damp man in to estimate. I'm also guessing that the mortgage company will put a retainer on the funds until the damp work is done. Should they ask the vendor, do you think, to lower the price to take into account the works that need doing? It's about 20 years this year that I last bought!

Have also done an emergency clean of part of the kitchen floor, a couple of kitchen doors and a work top as one of the cats decided to puke up everywhere.

    Have also watered the garden.

Right, about to do lemon chicken for dinner. (We're eating even later at the mo so that DiL has hers hot when she gets in from work about 9.30pm and doesn't need to nuke it.)

I have significantly more pairs of shoes than that... by less space to keep them in ;) so they live on shelves in the bottom of my wardrobe!

Any time you want to come round and muck out my study and utility room, you're welcome :D

Enjoy your chicken. I hope you manage to get out of the house soon!

ETA - now I've got my broadband up and running I've requested to join the facebook group. It's frustrating that it doesn't give you a chance to add a message explaining who you are!

Nope but I do know that whatever I am looking for I will find it eventually (apart from many years ago when I came home very drunk 1 night - never did find my other shoe although my mate said I was wearing it when we came in, I think I kept the other one 2 years hoping the lost one would turn up)

And I did recently find OH's decree absolute after he had paid £75 to get a copy of it :rotfl:

Thank you if it helps one person feel a bit better then it was worth the embarrassment.

Thanks but its a S**t hole but it might be a fab space one day, cant actually remember what year we started it probably about 2002.

Well so far I have managed to find 14 of OH's work shirts still in packets which I have put in a bin bag which are now useless as they changed the uniform while he was off, but I cant just bin them or charity shop them as they have great big logos on them. Might get him to take them back to work for recycling. At least the 6 pairs of new trousers he can wear down the garden.

I also have found a bag of new Claires Accessories stuff that I will donate to DD's school fete and I have a whole trolley bag of recycling cardboard/paper.

As yet nothing has left the house though

As for the shoes, that was 14 pairs just spread across the floor, last time DD counted the cupboard there were 38 pairs of shoes and 14 pairs of boots - but I am going to fling some - promise
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

I always believed there was a twin out there for us all, kaz  I have found you at last ;):D I am just not brave enough to take before pics let alone post them  Thanks for sharing with us, you should join my dot to dot team.

soappie how much do they WANT this house? They have nothing to lose IMHO by getting a quote for the works and presenting that to the vendor. Give them the choice, they get the work done and the offer price stays the same or drop the offer price by the amount of the estimate. Are there other similar ones out there? It's a buyers market so they should have the upper hand.

Kaz - I just love you for showing those pics! I think sometimes on here everyone thinks that everyone elses houses are perfect. Your bedroom is the most amazing space, I love it.

It didn't cool down enough to fly and i'm not making myself feel icky doing it in this heat. Still, the place looks ok. DH sorted the ironing. I put a wash load on. Bin area outside tidy. Children in bed. Time to relax!

    Hugs to all xx
