Hi gingernut
Just been reading your old diaries to see what you have been up to
You have done well and I can definitely see a change in the commitment to being debt free - owning up to the full debt amount, regarding your mortgage as debt etc.:T
Had to laugh at you leaving university because of your unholy lifestyle my OH became a vicar late in life so the coincidences in our lives amaze me. As a result I am off to a MU dinner tonight I will be the youngest by what seems almost half a centurybut part of Vicar's wifes duties I did threaten to wear a T shirt which said I don't do scones on the back (although I can) at his ordination. I don't think we would be regarded as a typical clergy family and we are certainly not holy joes probably because we have had a very varied life experience to date. OH has just bought a Lotus
and so could be called a revving rev and has just come back from collecting his prescription in it a 10 minute job that has taken him over an hour  something about the chemist sending him on a long circuitous route through the countryside:rotfl:
I am experiencing foster money envy I think I told you before our LA has started fee based fostering four levels, level one £0, level 2 £100 a week, level 3 £200 a week and level 4 £300 a week plus the basic fostering allowances for each child. We are on level one and I am spitting feathers as everyone goes on that the day they are registered and we have been fostering for 6 years and have always had fantastic reports and have just been asked to sit on the fostering panel for a neighbouring authority - so at the prompting of our annual reviewing officer and my support worker I sent an email to the head of dept explaining why I thought the system they had introduced was flawed and asking why we were on level one on 27th March and despite being promised a reply I am still waiting:mad:. Sorry for moaning but as you have worked for them I am sure you can appreciate my frustration I just keep thinking a little bit more money would so help the debt busting and some appreciation would be good too probably asking too much there:rotfl:
Sorry I will stop now.
You are doing well though:T What's this about shoes isn't that usually a girl thing (actually not my thing at all:rotfl:)?

Thanks DT.....
You're right the similarities are striking! Never did MU myself but did have to attend the WI when I was in 'vicar factory'..... must say it bored the pants off me :rotfl:.
In regards to the fostering I definately agree with you that the system is very unfair. I feel that in one way you don't want the pay to be so good that people become foster parents only to make money (certainly know a few of those ) but it is a demanding 24/7 job and deserves to be well paid like other 'jobs' of a similar level.I would definately keep fighting for the increase though as the LA are never keen to hand over money .
With regards to the shoes...... not sure if you have realised that Mrs Ging is a girl....... and so am I- hence the 'unholy lifestyle' issue IYKWIM!!!!

Don't worry, you're not the first..... by a long shot!
Always fun to fluster cold callers when they ask if 'Mrs Ging' is there and I ask them 'which one?' :rotfl:.

Hi all,
It been a busy few days in the Ging family home.
I have got the scratchies bug and am averaging 70p a day.... not massive I know but with a double on sundays it's still £290 a year for nothing!
Also, we went to a meeting today and it was decided that we will be fostering a third child - the brother to the two children we already have in place. We are really excited about this as it will be lovely to have the sibling reunited.... a LOT of hard work though.
This will have a big impact on our finances. In the short term we have a lot of things we will have to pay out for (i.e bed, furniture, extra child on our hol etc) but long term we will be able to make more of a dent in our debts which would be good.
Off to do another spreadsheet.........0 -
So pleased that you have got the scratchcard bug it is money for very little effort.
Also delighted that you have made your decision about your new child and hope everything goes well it is lovely to keep a family together :T
