It is wet here, but not stormy (yet). Indoors is def the place to be. Our student is on an activity this evening but I did the outward journey, therefore OH can go out and collect her later.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. At least in this house when the lightening lights up the sky it doesn't darken the room - in the last cottage lightening meant no electricity. Snow mean no leccie, Strong winds meant no leccie. We have it good now - almost constant power and mains water

Hi CM
How did you get on today? I seem to recall Red Cross being an absolute nightmare when my gran died. She had regularly given donations by standing order so obviously that was stopped. For months letters kept coming and we kept telling them, even when they finally seemed to get the message my granda would get a letter every other year addressed to my gran. I can only imagine how he must have felt. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Hi Scottish Mummy,
I got on not too bad on Thursday during the day- & Red Cross have called to say they have cancelled, but we'll wait and see. But on Thursday night - and this is no criticism of the EA- I came home to a mock up of the brochure for Mum's house from the estate agt for approval. Yet more tears as this seems to be moving so fast now. Then DH come home, he saw it, and there were 2 lots of tears. But never mind, The Mentalist was on at 9 so I had a lovely vision to take my mind of things.
Anyway - no lists yesterday or today - house cleaning today - both mine & Mum's. Mum's needed aired and a freshen up - she'd be mortified if anyone turned up & her house wasn't spotless:eek:. Mine on the other hand - it has a lived in look.....
But guess what - I GOT AN EGG TODAY :j:j:j.
Chooks have now been saved from the pot as 1 has laid an egg. OK it was small & had broken by the time I got to it but as a first attempt, it's acceptable. With a bit of luck breakfast tomorrow will be a fresh poached egg. Anyway - must go & do wifey houseworky things.
Have a good day folks
