Thanks Time2GrowUp,
Been an interesting day - had arranged an early finish anyway to put flowers @ crem for MIL but all the big bosses arrived @ work this morning so something was afoot.
Looks like I've survived the next round of job cuts but from the Beeb news another thousand weren't so lucky.
Must get MSEing back on track big style ........ Will do next week
Take care - & thanks again

Hi CM, sounds like you are managing this difficult week really well. What a shock the job cuts must have been too, just to add to the worry.
And I am ever so slightly jealous of your chooks.

Hi there ScottishMummy :hello:
Hope you had a good holiday - & it looks like you've just missed the rain..
Chooks are lovely & they're settling in well - shouldn't make you feel even more jealous but I'm just so pleased with them.
Yes, it's a bad week, but might as well have all the problems in one week so that next week will be a happy week. I'm sitting here in work waiting on others to come in to give me the up to date goss - I've not heard a thing since I left at 12.15 yesterday.
Anyway - must go - toast & coffee are required

Good morning peeps, :hello:
The week of feeling sorry for myself has passed - and before anyone says, I know I have lots of bad days to come but life must go on.
Now that I'm a year older and allegedly more grown up  DH & I have serious plans to make.
So not only will the MSE & non MSE challenges start again from tomorrow but by next birthday I WILL
1 I will be debt free (apart from mortgage) - this is not as much of a challenge as it sounds but will stop me procrastinating when funds from Mum's estate comes in - I don't want to spend her money - she should have done that - and anything I buy from her money will always remind me of her - so a small treasured minding & put the rest to debt
2 I will be able to put away at least £250 savings from each month's joint pay - not only living with my means but also ensuring I'll never be in this situation again - that would mean using Mum's money to clear the debts was a waste - & that's not going to happen
3 I will have lost at least 56 pounds - I have more than this to lose, but this will make a big difference.
4 My garden will be weed free and extremely productive - I started too late this year but next year I intend to be harvesting crops in the spring.
5 DH & I will have decided where we are going to live and will have actual plans in place to make this happen - life's too short & we need to have a date & a place & a plan set up.
So these are the long term plans & they will be done by next year -
But for the short term - I have to go to Mum's today to meet someone & air the place before the estate agt comes to take the pictures on Tuesday.
And I need to iron clothes for work tomorrow - no housework - DH has a local holiday tomorrow so he can do this.
Anyway - off to update signature now to fit in with these goals
Have a good day folks

Is it your birthday? Happy birthday if it is, have a lovely day, you deserve it.
Your plan sounds like a good one. Mine is to finish the housework I should have done yesterday, so guess I really should get off here before 5 mins turns into 2 hours!
Have a great day.0 -
Thank Primula,
I prefer delegating housework but it happens so rarely I'm really enjoying this time.
Birthday was yesterday & we had a quiet night in - until aunt called 10 minutes from end of film & was on for an hour & a half  talking about herself.
DH told me how film ended......it sounded good.
Enjoy your housework

If you ever find yourself with a few minutes spare and you are otherwise incredibly bored, dig out the first page or so of my very first debt diary on MSE and you will see that I wrote almost exactly the same words, except mine was from my dad, rather than my mum.....
I know that failure is not an option - not only would I have lost everything I worked for, but will have lost everything that my Dad worked for too.....and he wouldn't have been too impressed with that!!
