Much as I would like to avoid them it's a necessity. I left them last week as DH was off on Monday thinking he'd "help". :confused:So now I've got 2 weeks worth of dust to move.....

    I'm ever hopeful :D

Although in helping in the past - he's managed to put his back out, fall & knock himself out in the conserv, trip over the trailing fish tank cable as he was carrying it & drop tank/fish/water - also unable to get up for about 30mins due to pain in various bits and another time he cleaned out the tank - 2 of the 4 fish escaped - 1 was found behind the breadbin (probably better not to ask) and 1 has never been found.

Maybe I'll do without help

:rotfl:Don't think I would want that kind of help either. I am lucky in that my DH does more than his fair share of the household tasks. He doesn't do dusting but he does almost all of the cooking and washing up and has been known to sweep and mop the kitchen floor. I also insist he irons his own shirts - I don't do shirts.:o

I like your approach, it's the little things you are doing that make the bigger things happen. Also like the phrase that the house is the biggest investment so better to keep it looking like that.
    All makes sense :)

Thanks for you comments folk, much appreciated

Scottish Mummy - I always hope DH "help" will improve and that no injuries will happen - although after 23 years I think it's about time to resign myself to failure. And if shirts need to be done - I need to do them.....

    Hi Primula,

Thanks for your concern - I'm fine (ish). A few quiet days as Mum's house going on the market is moving much more quickly than I realised - house is actually on the market now - and this just seems like another step closer to having to accept the reality of her being gone.

Anyway - it's the weekend now :j wine is in the fridge :j:j and I have the night & weekend to myself as DH is working.

As it's raining I can't do the garden so I can see a slovenly weekend ahead of me - BLISS

Oh, and of course a weekend of catching up on diaries :D

So I've been a bit lax of late, however - it's a new month & DH is working this weekend so I can get back on track.

Weather's rubbish so indoor jobs today

    MSE

Meal plan for week - done
Get all spreadsheets up to date to see where my lack of money has gone - done & this was scary
Chase up FLA (again) about PPI claims that are ongoing - can't let them forget about me :D - didn't need to do this as recevied a letter declining claim - now have to try with the FOS but I don't think they will take case on.....

    Non MSE

    Tidy house (yeuch) - done
Washing & ironing (even more yeuch) - on last load of washing & as washing hasn't dried on the airer yet no ironing until tonight
Clean out chookie hens - done
Tidy out car - done - have removed kettle, 25 metres of chicken wire, 15 National Geographics, 1 book, 1 scarf (last time worn was 8th Feb) and junk.
Clear out e-mails alphabetically up to 'M'

If I can get this all done today then tomorrow is MINE:j:j.
Except for a visit I'm expecting from an aunt & her friend over the weekend, I can then do as I want -

    Party at my house anyone??
