Hypno - I should feel guilty at your self righteousness but then I remember the warm yet crispy bacon with the butter melting and the brown sauce just at that perfect stage of runniness & think - YES - THIS WAS WORTH IT  - much better than being good

    IT'S SATURDAY :j:j

Not going out to work - but will get to potter around the house instead.

I have a feeling next week will be a baad week - On Thursday it'll be a year since MIL died & Sat will be my 1st birthday with no card from Mum (she committed suicide in Feb) - must stock up on tissues & wine this weekend.......

    So here goes

    MSE

    Spreadsheets -done
Pigsback - done (nothing new though - might check again later)
Air dry all washing to be done
Read lots more of e-bay book
Buy wine in a box - cheaper than 4 bottles :pDONE

    Non MSE

    Clean house
    Ironing
Bit of gardening if weather holds out
Go through all my previous diary notes & complete any uncompeted stuff -done
Tidy out drawer with Mum's stuff in it as with house going on market I'll need to be able to find things & no doubt more paperwork will come in

So that should do me for the WHOLE weekend - it's a 2 day list folks so I have a bit of breathing space

    Off now to start

Weeks like the one that is coming up for you are not supposed to be easy.....so I find that the best thing is just to give in to it - don't try and fight it......if you try and fight the emotion, whether you are tearful, stressy, angry, whatever, then you might feel on the day that you have "got through it ok" but then it will come back and bite you on the bum a little later, when you are not expecting it, and it will be twice as bad, or last twice as long.

So.......go into this week saying "I will feel like I feel, it may not be the same as OH feels, because he will feel like he feels......" and just don't have ANY pre-conceived expectations.....because I can guarantee that the reality will be way off what you expect, however you expect it to be!

Thanks Hypno - I think under the circumstances I've done not too bad (although my work colleagues might not agree) but I was told a similar thing after Dad was killed 4 years ago - "what you feel is right & you're only afraid of other people's reactions - but you are right". This has stood both me & DH in good stead over the past few years. In fact, the only thing I stopped him doing after his Mum died was cutting the grass at 6.30 on the Sunday morning - and it was the time was the issue, not the grass.

Anyway - off to make a shopping list & to mark 'Done' beside a few chores:D

Just had a very MSE shopping trip (is that a contradiction in terms?)

Bought 4 potted herbs from Mr A - so I have them now rather than waiting for seeds to grow and they were real cheap
And Lidl have these trays of lettuce that you pick as you need - reduced to half price and I also found 2 tomato plants at half price all ready to plant out for a home made salad.

So I now have to plant all these out - or maybe I'll wait until tomorrow & raid Mum's greenhouse for trays & stuff to plant into.....

I'll have another coffee & ponder that one

Well, house is still a tip - car boot is still, well, full

BUT the weather is beatiful. Tomatoes and herbs are planted and I'm now going to scout around for another pot for the lettucy things (as you may have gathered I'm no Percy Thrower). I'll plant out the lettucy things, do a bit of weeding & then reward myself - perhaps with a glass of wine....:)

Off I go to hunt for a pot or something that might resemble one

  • :hello: Hello CM,

Have you pinched my sunshine....? Our weather is a bit naff today, its sprinkling if you know what I mean.... was hoping to paint my garden table, but that will have to wait.. I'm glad to see your sorting your veggies.. I'm not a gardener either, I tried growing tomatoes, runner beans and peppers 2 years ago, I think I got about 6 edible runner beans, the tomatoes all went rotten (we went on holiday at peak picking time..) and the peppers looked nice but tasted foul... so haven't done any since.. maybe next year.. I hope your's are more successful.....

Shouldn't you be inside reading that Ebay book?????

I was sorry to read about your Mum and MIL, I do hope you manage to have an ok week, do stay posting with us we can offer  or hugs when necessary. x

    Thanks Time2GrowUp

I can hold a book in one hand & a glass of wine in the other - when I need to turn a page you put the book on the floor..... the wine never leaves the hand

Sorry for stealing your sunshine but as possession is 9 tenths of the law - it's mine now & I'm keeping it. I will read the book later but as sun is so rare I'm enjoying every last second of it.

Now- off to weed as lettuce looking stuff has been planted & watered.
