We'll be travelling with a two month old at Christmas (all going well) as my OH and I live in Norwich his parents/family/friends live in Cheshire and my family/firends live in Pembrokeshire. As much as we would like to stay in Norwich no grandparents/aunts/uncles/etc would get to see our little one. So probably look at travelling over 1000 miles over christmasTegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

hey all - just got back from my lucozade test - had another low BP episode after they took blood
Luckily this time I stayed in the chair rather than trying to leave. They were brilliant and laid me back, gave me water and put a fan on me. A MW came round just to check me, BP was 80/48. She said it's caffeine rather than sugar I need when these happen and made me a huge mug of coffee
It was a horrible experience, you just feel totally awful for about 20 mins, but at least I knew it'd be over soon. Someone had brought their bubs in and everyone was cooing over her, so that was a nice distraction - and reminder of the end result
Was on my own too with the 45 min drive ahead but they made sure I was OK before I left. Fingers crossed the test is clear so I don't have to go back for GTT...MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

I wish I could do that SM but I do like seeing my family as I only get to see them a couple of times a year. Plus I would like my child to spend time with uncles/aunts/cousins/etc so they are not a stranger.
Plus I am hoping for a rest as there will be plenty of babysitters plus I won't have to worry about cooking or buying loads of food inTegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

It's good to see how much you will get paid if you get paid monthly as £123 per week means diddly squat to me! I work in calendar months!
The first month threw me as it's 3 weeks full pay (I'm finishing 20.09.09) and then £700 odd quid for the 8 days from 20th Sept to 30th Sept but only showed the £700! Bear in mind it's gross not net - you'll still pay NI, tax and pension contributions from the figure it gives you but obviously not a lot. I think I've put down an income of £480 for each month based on gross of £540, will be supplemented by £80 Child benefit, £80 CTC and £380 from my savings. Should be manageable.
SM - I told you that would get them into gearA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Bit of excitement in the office - a chaffinch decided to fly in through the window. It took a little while but we finally got it to fly out again!Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

We'll be flying with a 5-6 month old at Christmas
Totally worth it for all of us. I love the bustle and chaos of Christmas, I think my OH loves the family element (his are all much, much further away and there aren't many of them left) and hopefully the family will love the newest addition and yet manage not to spoil her rotten.
I've bought a bunch of toys for future Christmases to assuage my urge to buy stuff, but she's only getting a book, a rattle and maybe I'll wrap up her Christmas clothes this year. She's not going to have a clue what's going on anyway.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
