after getting up at 6am and arriving at 6.40am we found our 1st car boot had changed the rules so no buyers can get in until all sellers are parked up. Used to just be a free for all but due to 'health and safety' they changed it (it's in a mulit-storey) - didn't get in until 7.40am  when 200 people descended on the place

Went to 2 boot sales and for £4 I got .................................
    10 items of baby clothes
    5 x baby vests
    4 x baby booties
    5 x baby hats
1 x pair of baby shoes

Best Bargains though were a brand new pair of baby shoes still with tags on £4.50 - she wanted 20p!

And a new Annabel Karmel Baby food grinder for £1.50 - normal price £8.

OH made me sleep in the spare room apparently my snoring was too much - he could hear me through ear plugs and with the fan on! I don't even realise I do it and can't help it so I might end up sleeping in the other room til baby is born :o

    Congrats to Molly

Thanks for the new list - can't believe I am now in the first part of the page and not long to go if I go at 38 - 39 weeks (8th-15th Sept!)

Right off for a nap I think, I'm pooped!

    8th!

I'm hanging out here with a hot water bottle on my back, in 25+ heat. I went back to sleep after my earlier post and apparently was making regular-ish complaining pain noises in my sleep before one massive pain woke me. Still nothing regular enough to justify a hospital trip but things are moving in the right direction.

I'm going to eat something, then put the laundry away, then vacuum the massive clumps of cat hair lurking around the place. I combed him out yesterday and he was covered with butt-matts. Husband managed not to be able to get hold of the people he needed to yesterday so is putting stuff away in between computer breaks. Hopefully he can call one of them today and then do something a bit constructive.

Congratulations Molly and everyone else who's moved onto the birth list. Well done!

    Hello ladies!

CONGRATULATIONS to Molly and baby Bronwen! Looking forward to photos and birth story. Hope you are both doing well. xx

Went to the theatre last night and it was very good, but I was so uncomfortable. My back was killing me. The person behind me must have been really p***ed off as I had to keep shifting and fidgeting. We are going to cinema on Wednesday after a meal out as it's my birthday, and seriously considering taking a cushion with me!! Need to make sure we get there early enough to get an aisle seat too for multiple toilet visits!

Question - everyone talks about washing their baby clothes. Are you only washing the second hand ones, or should you wash the new ones too? Thanks!

Wash the new ones as well. You don't know whether they have been - dirty factories, lorries, shop floors etc.

fitz i washed everything as you have no idea what has been on or near the clothes. Do not think that they are clean because they are new, I worked in a clothes shop for long enough to know that they arent !!

As far as I know you ought to wash everything. New things may have chemicals and harsh nasties used in the production process, or have picked up germs and bacteria etc etc, which wouldn't be good for baby's skin.

It does seems a shame though as I am rubbish at ironing and can never get things looking as nice as when I bought them!!

May have to invest in a ironing monkey for when babies born!

Thanks for your replies Glam, MM, Becster.

I expected that I probably should wash the baby clothes, but then I also thought it might advise on the packaging to "wash before first use" or something, but it doesn't.
Is everyone using non-bio washing powder too? Some places I read that you should, but then other places say that normal washing powder is fine for babies unless they have skin condition. I guess I will probably by some non-bio to be on the safe side, but just wondered if it's essential??
