It comforts me that pain relief is an option in birth - I'm not going to go in with my spine already exposed insisting on an epidural, but if labour goes on too long and I feel I can't manage any longer I'll take one.

Having someone who by definition can't experience the process tell me my choice is harmful to my baby is unbelievably short sighted and dangerous. We already have so many things to feel badly about - we might have had a sneaky glass of wine, or find it hard to give up smoking, or an unhealthy craving, or prefer to have a C-section over natural birth - adding pain relief to the list of things we shouldn't do because it makes us Bad Mothers is ridiculous.

EA, SM - I was like that too, always nauseous but never sick. The only comfort I can offer is that it passed and I know I felt horrible but can't remember how it felt. OH was telling me I had a bucket in every room - I'd forgotten.

    here here :)
I'm so glad I went to the trouble of gettin Meptid for my HB I was convinced I wouldn't need it but then I was also convinced I was having a baby no bigger than 7lb and he turned out to be over 8lb I don't know what would have happened if I couldn't have had the meptid... I'd possibly have demanded an ambulance to come with something :p

Im only 6 weeks though, it seems like forever away for it stopping lol.

SM - I get really bad travel sickness anyway, so me being in any car/bus/moving object with an engine, is going to be horrible. Though me and OH went on a boat tour the other day and i was fine :)

Actually thats before all of this started... Hmm.. I'll just walk everywhere from now on. Except to go to hospital as our new maternity ward has been moved from up the road to a 20 mins bus drive away! :(

Damn NHS and there new sparkly hospital :/

Very relieved to have actually made it out of the hospital as OH and consultant wanted me to stay. Contractions are getting strong now so shouldn't be long. X
