Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it is 3am. Husband came to bed about half an hour ago and woke me up by talking to me. I don't know why he does it but it happens a lot and is extremely annoying. I'm now wide awake, made the mistake of clicking into the thread about funeral poetry and am now all weepy.

I'm getting intermittent stretchy pains all the way down and inside, which I assume to be my cervix doing its clever thing, and in the morning I'm off to buy a sleeping bag for the small one and then perhaps to Ikea again to eat meatballs and chips and not buy a bunch of crap we don't need. Hurrah!

Hope everyone who may be in labour is doing wonderfully well and that everyone else is sleeping better than I am.

Sorry Suzy - I'm having weird dreams as well, when I can sleep at all. Apparently whenever I move I make horrible pain noises in my sleep. I did point out that it's not surprising since I also make them when I'm awake, but he didn't think of that before waking me to see if I was ok.

I keep smelling the smell of my grandmother. It's weird.

That IS strange. Is the smell when your asleep or during the day too?

I keep dreaming about Jade Goodey and Michael Jackson and also the muppets the other night. I really don't know what all that means.

It's hard to get comfy now in bed isn't it and the pregnancy pillow really isn't doing anything anymore. I can't wait to lie on my stomach again!

During the day, too. It smells like her hairspray and perfume, she had a few smells (:rotfl:) but this is her clean going-out smell.

    So weird.

I've just been playing with a weight calculator thing that converts kg to lbs. I have 45lbs to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm starting to hope the baby weighs at least 30...

My V shaped pillow isn't so bad, but I find it so hard to find a way to lie where my hips don't ache.

Weird but must be a nice feeling too.

You sure you want to give birth to a 30lb baby ?
Imagine that! I think I'd rather try and shift the weight -MUCH easier! :rotfl:

I'm not too bother about the weight I've no idea how much I've put on but I'm not as big as when I was carrying the boys so I'm not too bothered.

My hips are fine, I've got one of those genii pillows but I just can't seem to get it right at the moment. I just generally feel uncomfortable and need to go to the toilet a few times a night which is annoying me. I'm starting to dread going to sleep now as I know I'm going to be up in the night.

I think my vanity is catching up with me. I just hate being this big.

I'm going to try and get some more sleep - I hope your night gets better!

Your tiny anyway arent you? Did I see you mention a size 6 top the other day - was that you or am i mistaken??

You'll soon lose it, dont worry. I never got back to my pre-pregnancy weight but that was just me being lazy if you want to do it then you will.

Hope you get to sleep, I'm going to try soon, the birds have started their morning call here so I'll have to put the cover over my head now. Grrr.

 you've all gone back to bed again! I'm up early too, having had quite a disturbed night. I'm finding that as I get further along, and also probably as I try to manage my anxiety, that more and more memories of DD's birth are coming back. To start off with I could only remember snapshots which were quite scary, then I talked to the consultant who explained a bit about what had happened and the reasons why some decisions had been taken, and now I'm getting more memories, more about how I felt than what actually happened at the time. I'm not quite ready to post a birth story though as I still need to work out in my own mind what happened and try to get comfortable with it (as much as I can anyway) without any other perspectives, but am just wondering whether that can happen before the actual birth itself. Having told me a month ago, that he'd be happy to do an elective c section this time round on the basis of what happened last time round, when I saw the consultant last week he suggested I keep an open mind on how to deliver, so that probably isn't helping much with my mental state!

Nicki - I suppose it could be you just coming to terms with it now that it's more relevant with birth coming up again. Reshuffling and examining memories, you know? Before the pregnancy, you didn't have a need to face it somewhat. I'm sure the suggestion of keeping an open mind resurfaced a few fears as well. I'm sure if he said you could have the elective c-section due to your previous experience, that if you insist, he'll still be fine with that. I imagine in his position, he feels he must at least suggest alternatives, in case you come around to that idea, if nothing just to gauge your current feelings on the issue.
