GISI Don't make yourself ill if you can be signed off.I've recently been signed off and thats me off now until mat leave starts 10th August. I'm an assistant manager at a discount supermarket working 48hrs a week and it was just getting ridiculous with 10-12hr shifts and alarm calls in the night. I would prob have tried to hang on if I wasn't on full sick pay but its not worth making yourself ill for. If there were any sort of maternity benefits I may feel some loyalty towards them but its SMP quite a drop on a salary of 30k so thats taking care of the guilt lol0

Just realised I was moaning about my staff being stupid (not all of them, but too many!) after I said I got ready for the theatre on the wrong night. In my defence, I hadn't seen the tickets and OH had written it on the calendar for tonight!
GISI - Definitely get signed off if you are in pain. It must be tough doing a standing job. Mine is sitting down, and my ankles/legs have been badly swollen for weeks, but my back/sides only started straining this week and it's so uncomfortable. I am working until 36 weeks. If my work are good to me, I will definitely be loyal etc but if they are piling extra work on you, definitely don't do anything extra to make yourself feel worse.
JHA - sorry you are feeling crappy. Hope it eases off at some point so you can enjoy your pregnancy a bit. Keep posting and moaning though.
Pink - good luck!0 -
Karen- no I didn't get signed off, never went to doctors, since the weather cooled down abit it got abit easier to cope and the work load has got abit lighter too as we have quite alot of long staying guests in at the mo (there working near to the hotel) so alot of the rooms only require a light clean instead of the full works. Also, Im dropping down to 3 days a week instead of the 4 I do now and Im having abit of time off in the school hols to spend some time with my DS (DD is going to her grandads in Spain for a few weeks so be lovely to have some mummy son time
) So...by the time school hols is over and I get back to a normal working routine I'll only have a few weeks left untill I plan to go on maternity leave :T so I might aswell stick it out.
love my little man he is amazing :j0 -

They know it's not my fault and it's not a training issue, it's just that some people are stupid. But I feel like a failure and it stresses me out. I need to be watching everything, answering stupid questions constantly, and I just can't cope with them any longer. Rant over!
I have similar issues at work tidying up after incompetant staff however in my case it's my 2 bosses
Ooh and good luck pink! Here's hoping for a quick and easy one for you!0 -
Good luck pink pig xxxDarling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j0

Sounds like we all have some incompetent staff.
Thanks for your kind words guys, I guess I just care a lot about my work and don't really want to get signed off unless I have to.
Bit disturbed that Heather in Eastender's baby is due at the same time as mine.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Seems quiet tonight...
I'm just trying to watch everything I've got recorded on my sky+ so I don't lose it all when I move a week on Thursday!!
And after last night's phish food conversation I ordered one of the half price price low fat tubs when I placed an online tesco order today!! Can't wait til Tuesday so I can get stuck in!0 -
I reckon that this baby is a figment of my imagination and I'll wake up tomorrow and my bump won't be there! :rotfl:Too many children, too little time!!!0
-
Yeah I reckon so tara! Or maybe you'll wake up in the middle of the night, realise the bump is gone, you don't need to get up for the loo and you can just roll onto your front and go back to sleep!!:rotfl:0
