GOOD LUCK PINK!!!!

Another lady from my antenatal classes has started labour (her waters have broken) so it really does feel so real now.

I am:
waiting for the council to ring me back
filling in yet another form in my desperate attempt to be paid the JSA I am owed from DECEMBER
filling in my MA form again cos I did it wrong before

Exciting huh?

I can think of better things to be doing at 38 weeks!

Well been to town and not really had any twinges except constant backache. I phoned the labour ward earlier as I was worried it was my waters and not the plug as there wasn't any mucus. They told me to go to triage. Anyway, 15 mins later I went to the toilet and out glooped a bit of mucus. So phoned them back and said I was happy I didn't need to go.

I've now unpacked and re-packed my bag. Put DS a pile of uniform in his room for DH. Just got to hoover up and dust my bedroom. I can't beleive the next time I sleep in my house I'll have the new baby with me!

Tara - is it tomorrow you're being induced? Or have I got you confused with someone else?

anyone recieved a surestart maternity grant yet?? Just wondering how long it usually takes to process?? I left my form in yesterday, but think with the public holiday here it might take a bit longer !???

Grr. Just chased council and the guy has gone out! WOn;t be back till 4 - and they close at 4!!!

His colleague said he maight be coming out to look at the hedge before calling me, but I think he should have called me back, then come and had a look and as I am here he could then speak to me face to face.

I'm rather cross about it now.

They are no longer swabbing patients so although he's been given anti-viral (Tamiflu) it doesn't mean he necessarily has swine flu.

So he might just have regular flu but is being treated as the above. They are no longer offering anti-virals just because you've been in contact (prophylaxis treatment) with someone with flu, although they say to catch it you need to be sitting within a metre of the infected person for over an hour. If your hubby hasn't been this close to him don't worry. If he has, the incubation period is 3 days so if your hubby has been in contact with him over 3 days ago (and not since) and is not displaying any symptoms it is highly unlikely he has caught it.

If you get any of the symptoms above and they don't go with normal flu treatments, then contact your GP ASAP. Pregnant ladies are classed as high risk so you will be offered the anti-viral. A 'flu friend' will need to collect your letter from the GP and take it to a designated centre to get your medication - they will need some of your ID to get it though.

Don't know about antiboides and breastfeeding I'm afraid.
