    Good luck SS!
    Welcome Bettydebt!
    Hello to everyone else.

Nothing much to say tonight. Waiting on DH getting home from London but flight has been delayed until 11.05! Poor thing has been up since 4.30am. And he is stuck with work colleagues he doesn't really know very well, so can't even just sit somewhere and read a book. Will probably just head off to bed soon though.

Skinty can you maybe put up a fence with trellis above back to the height of what the hedge was? Ask on greenfingered board what trellis plants will grow like mad if planted now. My parents had to do that after they ripped out the hedge and put in chicken wire fencing along a lane beside their garden.

Well, the thing is that the hedge is beyond the garden. Basically it goes: garden, our fence, back path, the hedge, footpath, verge, the road.

So when I put the fence up fairly recently, I chose a four foot one with a foot of trellis on because the hedge behind was about 10ft high and was never cut by the council even when they were asked!

so now we would have to pay to replace our back fence and gate, when if they had just cut the hedge to 7ft not 5ft it would be fine.

And what makes it worse is I have now discovered that they have only cut it behind three houses - all of which are private and not council! Everyone else still has a nice big hedge offering them privacy.

So it's utterly inexplicable and those of us affected are phoning the council tomorrow to demand some answers.

It's especially bad because they have cut it back so far it is into woody growth, which basicall yisn;t going to come back very well, if at all, and the shock could in fact kill the hedge as ALL it's leaves have been removed.

Typically, our house is the worst affected because by the time they got to our bit their arms were tired (they actually said this to me) and it drops below five feet behind us.

I am SO cross about it - I feel I am sitting in a fish bowl.

What's the difference between baptism and christening? Sorry for my ignorance!

I know you've had some answers, but for me, Christening is when you do it to a baby/child that isn;t making it's own decision, and Baptism is when an older child/adult makes the choice for themselves. I go to a Baptist church and we don;t do christning, only baptisms of people old enough to choose for themselves to follow God.

Elle - brilliant news! That's fantastic!

    ss - keep us posted!

    Hi all,

Elle - fantastic news about Rhys

    SS - good luck!!

    Welcome to any newbies!

Ooh, i got through for an interview for a pretty good new job at work next Tuesday! Really nervous but think only about 20 people got through to this stage & its for 10 jobs so i'm in with a fairly good chance. Hate interviews tho. It would be more responsibility but would be starting salary of £2000 a year more than i'm on now, going up an extra £1500 after a few months if hitting targets. That would certainly help when on ML, as company maternity pay means its based on salary up to week 26!

    xx

Not quite a false alarm but there's nothing imminent going on.

I'm 1cm dilated, contractions are just early ones and they have given me some medication to stop it hurting so I can sleep tonight and then over the next few days the real thing will begin.

Hurrah for exactly full term and no further!!

OK, your earliest ovulation date could have been the 24th (3 days before sex) which would make you 8/3weeks and your EDD 14/02/10

Latest ovulation date could have been 2nd June making you 7/3weeks and EDD 23/02/10.

As I said, those early scans (before 8-9 weeks) are not accurate for dating, they can be upto 3 weeks out.

Your date could be a few days outside of that, but those are the most likely dates as far as I can work out :D

Thank you!!:T Seems I am not too far off my calculations then. Will (try) be patient until the next scan.

I got distracted after Torchwood when my mum phoned to update me on how the shop is coming along. It all sounds very stressful and I'm glad I'm not allowed to help! :D

SS, hope everything is ok (and that it is real and therefore your pain will be over soon).

Skinty, complain and ask why they decided to cut it, did they think they were doing you a favour? Idiots.

As I'm up at early'o'clock I should go get a shower, plus I'm stinky too. And I'm sore.

    .

I'm going to. It's crazy. We have found a solution of sorts, which is some willow screening to attach to the back of the fence, so OH will sort that at the weekend, but it doesn;t bring back our lovely hedge where all the birds used to hang out. :(
