Tia, I had to have special openers fitted that limited the space that the window could be opened by as you know that some special needs kids don't get consequences. DS1 could see the park and using an upstairs window to get to it didn't seem a problem to him. We also had wooden windows in another house so I unscrewed the handles and put small chains on them before putting them back on, again limiting the opening.

We had those on DD's window. It was open at the top by a few inches (sash window) and she somehow managed to squeeze her head through, then hung off the top window wedged by her neck. Fortunately some neighbours saw her and came running over to warn us. I have no idea how she got her head out, as we struggled to get it back in again, and couldn't find the key to release the bolts to make it easier :o. T'was a very stressful night that night!

See the benefit of living quite close to my sister is that I only see her for half a day a week as we dont see the need for any more contact !!! And even then it is up the own with my mum on a Sat afternoon as the 3 of us and the kids all go for lunch together and then a spot of shopping !! So not too much time spent talking :)

Right, we're off to the hospital.
