:j yay sugarspun!! It's happening! :j
Can't believe I had 10 (10!!!!!!) pages to read tonight!
Well I'm mighty peed off today as work was just ridiculous and I'm very tempted to either write a complaint to the chief exec of the hospital or just ring the Belfast Telegraph!!
Got in to be told we had a suspected swine flu patient coming, we were already short staffed, already a really heavy shift and if he came then one nurse would have to stay with him alone and not be out on the ward. I was being nominated and didn't know what to do.....the ward sister knows I'm pregnant and knows I haven't really told anyone else yet! She sat there and said nothing leaving me in a fix infront of everyone until my collegue who knows came in and said she would look after him! In the end he came so late all the day staff had gone home, the ward sister had to stay to deal with himby that stage I was ready to smack her in the face and still had to deal with all the patients who are suffering from the current vomiting and diarrhoea bug!
*and breathe and relax*
Thank god I'm off now!! Feeling very nauseous tonight, came over all sweaty and wet mouthed in work but stood infront of the air vent and it passed!:rotfl: hoping for a good nights sleep tonight as it'll be a busy day tomorrow and we're off on our wee holiday!
Won't be online while we're away and no doubt this thread will have moved on about 100pages by the time we're back!
Good luck to everyone whether for labour or for glue, might get a quick pop on in the morning before we go.x0 -
Just a very quick good morning from me as I need to leave for work.
Had possibly the worst night's sleep ever last night- hubby is on night's so that doesn't help, and I think the afternoon nap may not have helped either. Still, I will sleep like a baby tonight if I can just make it through the day at work!
SS- how exciting for you! Hope it all starts happening soon.
Happy Friday everyone!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Morning everyone,
I had a rubbush nights sleep too, woke up at 1am with pains and backache. It took me 2 hours to get back to sleep. I got up this morning and there was a red/brown patch on the sheets where I'd sat. Went to the loo, wiped myself and there was some more. So I've phoned the hospital and they said it sounds like I've had a show. No idea what that looks like - I thought it was mucusy (sp)? What I had wasn't slimy. Anyway, they said to still go in tonight as planned, but if the contractions get any stronger and closer together then phone them again.
Woohoo it's happening!
But I need to go to town this morning to get DS a bucket and spade for his school trip to Cleethorpes next week! Hopefully I'll manage to stay intact!

Enjoy your break.
Well, it's OH's birthday today so I'm taking some time back and finsihing work at 2pm - I was here at 7.40am  Plan to take him out for a meal, maybe watch a film, BB eviction and then snuggles
Squishy - glad you are feeling more reassured. I was worried about bubs the other day as he didn't seem to have moved much but then the next day he was mega active!
in 5 weeks time, this will be my last day in work :j
I can't wait - just a bit concerned that it's been well over a week since I got offered that other job and the referees have received their forms and I've not had my occy health stuff yet!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Glam - my last day is 2 weeks today :j
Pinkpig - hope all goes well for you today- quick and easy vibes for you. Catz I hope you will soon be holding your bundles too!
Labour vibes to Tara (if your still here)
I'm tired again today, and we have our labour workshop tomorrow, 10-4 at the hospital. I'm only really going to see the birthing pool, but I think it is a case of I'll be able to use it if it's free and if there is a trained MW on duty, so I'm not getting my hopes up  If I can have a water birth - great, if not, I'm prepared for that too!0 -
I saw my cousin last night omg she is 5 months pg and huge! This was one of the reasons she has had to have the GTT It looks so odd as she is only 5ft and a size 6 has no boobs whats so ever so it looks like she has a bowling ball up her top. bless her though bet she gets fed up with people saying it. She got her test results back and all is fine but has to have another scan to mointor the babies growth as it is so big.
I just had a phone call from that cafe at the garden center. The chap just said is that mrs x what exactly do you want from this? i didn't know what to say i thought he was very short and rude. I just said that i thought i would bring it to there attention as someone else could have got hurt. It was the staff member who made me write my details down and said head office would deal with the complain. He said sorry and put the phone down. No concern about my top i can no longer wear or that the nails scrapped across my pg belly. I won't be going back there that's for sure. What a horrible man, No people skills what so ever.
Grr getting very annoyed now. Just rang the team base phone number to get hold of my MW the line is only open for 1 hr ever day and they told me she has now gone on holiday for 2 weeks. What a carp MW she knew i have been trying to get hold of her and to not follow it up and get to speak to me before she goes away is bad i think. Because i am consultant led she doesn't seem to care. This is my signature!0 -
Elasti - your friend sounds like me (except the boobs cos I certainly have them!) My bump looks like a bowling ball! OH took another pic last night and it just looks really strange!
Some people have no people skills - I've been waiting 8 weeks for the manager at the local kids adventure park to ring me about the 50ft tree that blocks the sun in my garden! I ring every week to ask why he hasn't phoned and am assured he will ring me that day.
He rang me last Sunday when I was having a nap! Typical!
NMS - 2 weeks hey?! That will fly by!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Morning ladies!
Good luck pink, it sounds like you're well on your way even before the induction starts.
And catz too - you're going today, right?
And Tara. Labour vibes to all three of you and anyone else who wants in, well-behaved baby vibes to the rest of you.
I've had what looks like a show to go along with my tiny amount of dilation, still getting backache and periody cramps and now just waiting patiently. The cramping is more painful but more bearable now I know it's going somewhere.
