I don't think she was saying it was a rule - just a tendency. Great if you manage to have a chilled baby when you're not chilled yourself, but it kinda makes sense to me that if you're relaxed then the baby's not getting a load of stress hormones while it's developing (I think there was some research in the news recently about the link betweemn maternal stress and later behavioural problems but that's prob based on extreme examples rather than the more usual grumpiness and fretting)
Anyway, even if it's a delusion, it's one I'm going with as it makes me feel calm about everything!MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Thanks girls - I don't drink normal tea although apparently I make a nice cuppa!
I always forget to do my pelvic floor exercises - sometimes when I go for a wee it dribbles out really slow and I can't even feel it! So now, I do them when I remember and then everytime I go for a wee I make sure I stop mid-flow! Seems to work OK.
Did have an epsiode a few weeks back where I was sure I had finished and stood up - but I hadn'tA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I read that you shouldn't actually do the exercises mid flow as you can increase the chance of getting a UTI.Mum to DD born Oct 2009

Jenny - yes I'd heard that too. I think you're supposed to do it once or twice when peeing so you know which the muscles are but then do the practicing at other times, like when the phone rings or you're at red lights. I can't do them at all, can't seem to hold it once I've tensed them.MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

hi guys!!
appointment went well at hospital.
had another scan (wasnt expecting that!!) so got to see baby again.ooh i will have had at least 4 scans by birth!! getting our money's worth from NHS!! estimated size was 1400g (just over 3lbs) hubby could see screen with the measurements and baby is measuring nearly 31 weeks rather than 29, but as hubby is 6ft and i'm 5ft 3 this may mean i am having a long baby rather than wrong dates as up to now dates/measurements have been acurate.
BP was good, no worries there
asked about labour/birth and she said that if my BP was to go up they will induce me at 38 weeks, other than that it will be wait for baby to decide they are ready.
took bloods so just waiting for results now.
still have to see midwife every week.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Good afternoon ladies.
DS back at school after being poorley yesterday, and i'm back at work.
OH doing my head in via phone/ text from hospital, ranting and raving. Visting is 7-8pm and he has been scheduled for an MRI scan at 7pm, so no visiting. I wasn't going tonight as DS has Judo lesson and not fair if he missed out. OH had parents and auntie to visit so wouldn't have been on his own. I know its carp being in hospital, but he really is winding himself up. He is stroppy at the best of times, medication is making him worse and now he is ranting at this. He is fixating on things, texting me, expecting me to jump to it and i'm at work. Texts me at gone 11pm at night, when he knows anything after 10pm and i'm asleep, again in the middle of the night, when he can't sleep and again at about 6.30am, when the nurses decide it's time for everyone to wake up for a brew and breakfast. At which time i may be awake but alarm has not yet gone off and i need time to come round. I'm not allowed to moan about pregnancey related aches and pains, because nothing of mine or my tiredness can compare to his. Sometimes think mobiles were the worst things invented. I'm a carp girlfriend sometimes, and it sounds really selfish, but can't i get a little peace?0 -

OopsI'm doing them now so hopefully that counts!!
Jillie - YAY for another scan! I am hoping to get another one now as well - haven't seen bubs for agggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggges!
The literature I have on GD says about being induced at 38 - 40 weeks so we might go at the same time!
OH doesn;t want to come with me to clinic - bit annoyed but maybe for the best, he'll only panic if they start talking about complications. I might ask him again tonight
WM - hugs to you!!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

ugh, really need strategy to increase flagging energy levels in the middle of the day. Napping is not an option in my office, and I really don't like to consume more than 1 cup of caffeinated beverage a day
