Sorry Skinty - not much help then. Keep trying the helpline. x
Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

Floyd Peter arrived 9th July 2011 (1 day early) :D
  • Nanc - you can request it but make sure you don't post it until the day you turn 25 weeks or it'll get sent back! Once it's in though they've been v quick. It was a week between postbox and bank account for me (and even less before it got spent!!)

Ive spoken to a lovely man! You have to ring 0845 608 8595. Basically, what I did when I used their table to work out the test period was think they meant april this year when they meant April last year. It does say 2008 but I didn;t read it properly with my PG brain.

So i need to send in pay slips from last year and I will get the full amount!

He said it's a very common mistake and would have resulted in my claim being returned to me, but as I have called and my claim hasn;t been touched yet, he is going to get hold of it and put it on hold, then I can send in the payslips, and it should be OK!

    I can stop crying now!

Health in Pregnancy Grant or HiPG. MW has to sign it for you and date it, and stamp it. She can only do it once x weeks are up, can;t remember how many now. I got mine at 28 week appointment and was paid within four weeks I think.

I am new to this thread so a big Hello to you all!!

I am 18 weeks pregnant, have been using MSE for a while and stumbled on this thread.

Money is extremely tight the same goes for a few of us on here:o so I could do with any tips/hints for saving as much as possible before Baby arrives. Hoping to get MA too, as I don't earn enough for SMP, but can't apply till 25 weeks, so not sure I will get it, which isn't helpful as I intend to leave at 29 weeks and I have to give my Employer 4 weeks notice.
    Any information anyone has on:

On baby stuff, free samples etc.
Maternity clothes which are so expensive.
    Any pregnancy freebies.
2nd hand stuff like moses basket etc.

I would be very grateful and of course I will update you all with any good offers I see!!

    Thankyou:A

I was the same, saw midwife at 22 weeks, she wouldn't pre-date one for me. (But your midwive may be nicer than mine). Got mine at 28 wk appointmetn last wednesday and posted it straight away. So now waiting for it to be processed. Money is marked for draws, curtains, blind and paint for babies room. Anything left over will go towards whats left to buy - bedding and safety gates.
