*Slowly pulls muslim out of her mouth looking very guilty*

As well you should, putting strange muslims in your mouth :rotfl:

Friend turned up late, with another friend, and instead of swimming they wanted to go up to the festival grounds. So we went, and just as we got off the bus the damned thunderstorm came rolling in.

I still want to go swimming :(

I also read somewhere that for newborns any expressed milk should be fed to them using a teaspoon because they could get confused using a teat. Anything in this or do you just make sure you have the right teat size? I love talking teats :D

I was away from my ds for 6-7 hours after he was born the mw's were that pushy for me to breastfeed they tried to manually express me while i was unconscious  They didn't get any and he was spoon fed forumla. They didn't offer him/me to formula/ bottle fed again once i was fully awake and sitting up so we had to muddle along on our own. He wouldn't really feed so they plugged me up to an electric pump and felt like a cow being milked still no milk came. I was in hospital for 5 days and they let him go knowing he wasn't feeding well ( may be got a dripple here and there it's hard to tell how much he was getting from me) so it is no wonder he lost so much weight and he didn't get back up to his birth weight after 3 weeks. So we were refered to the hospital. I felt really let down by the medical team in and out of hospital. They still was pushing for breast even though he lost so much weight and being a first time mum your told to stick with it, it will soon come.
I will try to breastfeed again but i will know to put bub on formula if i think it is right.

  • I'm planning to express from day 1 so DH can do the evening feed... there are so many pregnancy and maternity 'heresies' if you believed them all you'd spend the whole time being petrified of putting a foot wrong and doing some kind of permanent damage to your baby. As tia said - go with your instinct. Am sure babies get used to however you end up working things - they'll find the food wherever it comes from!

Well that was really worth going to the docs. He said well it could be chicken pox or it might not be chicken pox. i think i could even have come up with that diagnosis they should employ me. What a plonker!

He said i was fine as long as i have had it. But on the safe side don't let him be in contact with anyone else that is pg or anyone that has cancer but other than that i thought it was pointless. Ds has quite a few on his face now that he has been scratching at and a blister on his top lip but he still wouldn't say it was chicken pox he said it could be anything.

    Have a great weekend Karen!

I'm now off for the whole weekend which is a big treat for me! Planning to lie in tomorrow, then visiting family in the afternoon. It has finally cooled down here so I'm hoping to get a decent nights sleep tonight. Sunday I might try and go for a swim as OH is working. On the other hand I might just lie on the sofa.
