Strange i have about 10 peacock tops and have had no problems at all with them they have washed and ironed lovely, they are proper maternity ones though and not just bigger sized t shirts. I went mad in there one day as my friend gave me a 40 percent off voucher and other than the earlier mentioned coat and a dress i really liked for going out in from mothercare all my maternity clothes have come from there.

I've got a pair of white linen trousers that I bought on eBay. They are originally Peacocks and are a lovely fit and seem to wash well. I can imagine that the tops might not wash so well though as all their cheapy tops are fairly low quality, IMO.

I agree on what has been said about H&M trousers. I have one pair from there in a size 16 (I was a pre-preg 14 and all my other mat clothes are a 14) and they are fairly snug. I actually quite like the way they fit, but they are certainly not generous so it's definitely worth trying on in there.

I'm just about to attempt a July meal planner. I have printed off a blank July planner from Outlook and plan to plot on OH's shifts so I can work out which days I need to cater for both of us, and which are just me. I'm trying to keep grocery spends as low as possible this month. I have a £10 off £50 spend voucher for Tesco.com so that will help with the basics plus lots of fruit and veg.

i bought a lovely red top from peacocks not maternity normal but it is a bit longer than normal so good for a bump but i was gutted today as it has been ripped. Hubby took us out for lunch and as i sat down at the table the top got caught on a small nail that was sticking out and it now has a nice hole in it. I was so mad as the top was in the sale and the only one  Hubby went and complained as it could have gone further and scratched my tummy or ds could have sat there and hurt himeself. They took down my name, addy and telephone number to see what if anything can be done. But i don't want vouchers to eat there again i want my nice top back.

oh btw it rained non stop at the party yesterday lol so i after all that searching for a nice dress i couldn't wear it as the party was outside. My troussers got soaked as it was lol

i really need to get to a bigger shopping center or retail park, getting desperate for jeans and or shorts.

I've bought two pairs of maternity jeans and a t-shirt on ebay and a couple of Asda normal £8.99 summer dresses. I have a couple of skirts left over from when I had DS so I'm just going to see how I go with it for now. We go on holiday for two weeks soon and as I'm 20 weeks I look big but sort of just fat at the same time

I need to make a list of things that need doing/buying. I feel so un-motivated to do anything!

Hi Elastigirl, might be worth keeping an eye out on ebay for your Peacocks top incase the same one comes up on there you could buy. I had a hole develop in a brand new New Look top backalong and I was the same, they refunded it but there were no more left and Im still gutted now, lol!!

I got my fave mat jeans from Next, I seemed to go down a size as Im normally a 16 in jeans but seem to be a 14 in mat jeans and even then they are quite roomy. I love them though and have been living in them, they are trendy and have the band at the top thats about 2 inches wide. Hope they fit through the whole pregnancy!! U could order them online maybe to have a look.

    xx

  • Hey all - we went to our 1st NCT nearly new sale yesterday... not many mat clothes but managed to pick up a brand new pair of Dotty P combats (£25 label on, for £5), some Next linen trousers for £2 and so Moda Maternity joggers for £1. There were some 'good' labels on the rack but guess you have to be lucky with the sizing.

Spent £55 in all, came away with 3 grobags, a rear view mirror, toys n books, a mobile, a tens machine and my clothes. We didn't get a tummy tub or a changing mat, which were on our list. Based on the quality of what was there, would def recommend a visit and can imagine that as baby grows, the sales would be a good place to get the next lot up of stuff without breaking the bank. Get there early though! It was a bit of a bun fight! Some ppl had their tots with them - would avoid if possible - and have a strategy.

Been busy with baby stuff all weekend - all the clothes are now washed and drying on the line, nursery finished, baby monitor set up and tested... Been good but v tiring especially in the heat.

I have bought a few things from Next Clearance, and I agree that the jeans are on the large side! Mine constantly fall down as the belt I was using has broken.

Can anyone recommend decent, comfortable belt for a size 14 pregnant lady? I hate ones with buckles as they dig in when I sit down!
