Ouch at the sore finger. I think the buggy sounds like a bargain tbh. Hope DS1 is ok and was just performing rather than being ill!

£75 for a twin with all the 'bits' is quite decent actually. I was the best part of £300 for my M&P Aria twin brand new and i got £130ish on ebay a year later. Mine was also immaculate as DD1 found independence rather quickly so i switched to a single and buggy board :)

Ouch to the finger - sound nasty

I would let the kitchen men take the kitchen out, mine was ripped out in 30 minutes (where I would have taken most of a day to do it) they were super speedy

I would maybe also invest in some paper plates/bowls as washing up was the biggest pain I found of having a new kitchen installed, taking everything upstairs in a bowl and leaning over the bath (plus theres's only me) Also hide all your cups, most of the washing up came from the hundred of brews they seem to need every day

I ended up on day 3 making the men stay late to fit the sink in, then then told me it needed 12 hours for the sealent to go off :rotfl:

(hug) michelle. You'll have to call each other on Friday and promise to do something when he's back.

Good luck with your clearing out. Its really nice of you to offer the toys to your neighbour :)

OOO that was such a close one. £80 is alot of money to anyone and I know what you mean about depravation. Why do the silly things like that happen when OH not around. Maybe you should remove some cards from wallet so if, touch wood you wont, but if you misplace it again you cand access some cash. We have an 'emergency' credit card with a £500 limit in OH sock drawer fo rthat sort of thing.

DH dropped the bombshell on me that he is having to work away down south Wed-Sun so i am going to have to do all the kid stuff myself, as well as sort the kitchen stuff being delivered and try and empty the kitchen ready for them to start work on the Monday. I am not quite sure how i am going to do that as well as all the kiddie related stuff, but i will have to get as much as we can done over the next couple of evenings so it is manageable. (Grimacing, but thinking of the overtime he will get paid at some stage. )

So, thinking on the bright side, i can try and live fairly simply food wise on those days. I can cook main meal at lunchtime and have light teas. All will have to be fine. :(

Glad to hear the party went well - hope the finger is beginning to heal now!

DH's working away are a pain, aren't they. Mine's been doing it (Sun-Fri) since mid July and finishes 17th Dec. It just makes life awkward at times - like picking DD up from guides (9pm) I leave the 3 boys in bed (if DS3 is asleep, otherwise I take him with me) with DS1 (only 10) with a mobile, all doors locked and instructions not to answer the phone unless it's me phoning the mobile. I can't figure out how to do it any other way (no friends living close who go to guides to lift share with) With 4 dc (12, 10, 4 & 1) there's often something going on for one of them and it's a pain having to drag them all around

Well done on the ebaying! :T

Tip for screw - use the screwdriver as though you are going to undo the screw but before you do, hit end of screwdriver with hammer, the vibrations sometimes loosen the screw and its easier to get out

  • Hello,

Sounds like a really busy time ahead! My OH was away a lot when my children were small and i used to do loads when He was away, I think to pass thr time and to feel I had achieved something alone. You are doing brilliantly with the kitchen.:D We share the same wedding anniversary - obviously a popular day for teachers, so even though he isn't there, you should have some me time tonight and treat yourself.

    Have a good weekend,

    Squirrel:j
