Bumbling along to be Mortgage Free

Our friends are mostly still in the going out, getting drunk and having one night quickies than anything stable let alone buying a house or having a family. One of my friends has 2 little boys but their dad died when the youngest was only 6 weeks old in a car accident so life insurance has enabled her to buy a modest ex council semi outright and she doesn't really get the whole mill stone around the neck feeling.
Michelle how scarey about the robbery and everything. Do what you need to do, writting it down might help you get closure.
LP I'm nearly ten years older than you and we're not due to pay off the mortgage at the current rate until DH is 67:eek:
Michelle hope you have a happy reunion with DH.Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Boo hiss. Lots of extra money I hope?
eta just wondering if you ever look back at the start of your diary to see how things have changed? Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
hey michelle
glad DH is home but sorry he had to work late today!hope you get some time together and get a chance to relax..
sorry your feeling low, I find sometimes this time of year is more of a struggle with the darker colder weather- and much easier to reach for sweet/comfort foods
try not to feel guilty for not getting things done - Im sure theres some kind of rule saying 20% of the effort 80% of the time (perhaps not quite those percentages but you get the idea!) good idea to read back from the beginning of your diary - I shall be sure to do that when mine has been going a bit longer- nice to reflect how far youve come

OOH - NOT Nice re the armed robbery, Michelle
We're off up to Newcastle tomorrow (on the train - me and the 4 dc) - staying where DH lives overnight, then all 6 of us driving to edinburgh on weds morning. I'm so looking forward to it. DH has been working away since middle of July and has taken 1 day off in that time (obv back at weekends but v tired etc) He's not good at the mo (long history of depression) and has started anger management counselling - U'm hoping he learns from it...! I'm a bit down, too - I;m mega binge eating, not sleeping properly, not bothering how I look etc. Time of year doesn't help
3 kids are upstairs screaming/ shouting/ crying - NOT what I need. I want to finsh packing, check all clothes are laid out to wear and get to bed... Argh!!!! DS3 is wide awake and pottering around the lounge.
Right - ironing and then packing!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Am glad DH is home with you now.I know how lonely it is when they work such long hours and is so hard when looking after littlies all the time.
Bet you're looking forward to his day off on friday0 -
I sometimes think its harder to be in a relationship where they are not there a lot than to actually be single. You are constantly missing them or waiting for them to come home. Being single is a lot easirt in my book. Although my kids are older. I probably wouldnt be saying that if they were toddlers!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

I can see where you're coming from, pammy. DH gets home about 9pm on a FRiday night (8 if the traffic has been amazing) and is fit for nothing - cup of tea, food and then bed. Tired on Saturday, but not too bad. ALWAYS grumpy on Sunday, without fail. Sundays are quite frankly horrible after lunch time - at that point I do tend to think that it would be easier iif he didn't come home!! We're in a nice routine now, in general, me and the kids and we now adapt our behaviour for when he's home.. ah well, contract finishes in 8 weeks.
It's absolutely p=ing it down. Goung to get kids up soon

I'm sure you'll 'balance the books' for the month despite the overpayment. You've done it the right way round because trying to keep the money back to pay at the end never seems to work!
I have some days where I am counting the hours till hubby comes home and takes over to give me a break. If he was away for a week or even a few days I would really notice the lack of help.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I think thats where I go wrong. I pay my old fixed rate payment at start of month with intention of adding to it nearer the end of the month and here we are day before payday and we are poor.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000
