I love the quote in your sig Michelle.
I don't know much about solar panels etc but I think you're right that fuel bills are only going to go up!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

you've done a lot of the big things already, but how about the little things which will be good habits regardless of whether you go for the panels or not - turning lights off, not leaving things on standby etc.

Hi Cha
What sort of reading are you getting your electricity monitor per day, we have only been using one for the past few weeks but are finding it facinating. We have been using anything from 7 to 13. There are only two of us at home and both in work during the day (for four days anyway). I think our enormous fridge might be damaging our 'greenability'.

I am usually in the top 10-20 in the imeasure MSE carbon club so i think i am not doing too bad. When we get our new appliances we intend to get the best energy rating ones we can.

Michelle,
I read the article and DH and I are having the dilemma of whether to go for free solar panels now or not. We don't have £12k in cash so our options are go for free ones now or wait and see if prices drop significantly. It will be interesting to see what you decide to do and what other comments people have.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Morning Michelle (or should I say Good afternoon!)
I'm glad that your not looking at taking money out of the mortgage anymore...it was worrying me! I really do hope that you get the panels free, fingers crossed for you.
I still read your diary everyday , amongst others on MFW ,although I'm not always signed on to "thank"you.
Thanks to you inspiring me with your Op's. Ive made my very first overpayment this week as we are lucky enough now to be debt free and BOY did it feel gooooood . Im even thinking about doing a dairy of my own to keep me motivated. Im thinking about doing it under a new name though ..new start new name and all that plus Im very cagey what I write on here as I dont want to be " found" (not that Im lost or anything but you know what i mean)
Pavlovs - Imeasure is addictive be warned! I enter my readings every Monday and cant believe how much they have come down since starting it.
Anyway enough ramblings from me,
Take care

Thanks for your kind words Michelle. It means a lot to me.
I'm sure that I'm only higher than you on Imeasure because of all of my family members though. Your results should be low this winter and it should save you ££'s. It'll be very interesting to see the results....how boring do I sound?!
I understand fully what you mean about this switch. I think , for me anyway, its coming from Memory girls thread and thinking of things more positively. I feel it's changed me. I've thrown so much out of our home this week and drawn a lovely mortgage tree which took me well over an hour. ..where were my children when I needed them!!
It's nice to feel more in control isn't it? Let's hope that it continues for both of us.0 -
Hi Michelle,
How do you remember to do your readings weekly? I signed up for imeasure back in Jan, but I keep forgetting to read the blooming meters every week! Doh!!
Oh and what is 'the shred'? Sounds intriguing0 -
