Have you managed to make any profit from your teaching books? I have loads of them. And I guess I just don't use them.

Sounds like you are doing what I used to. When you click on your User CP and all the threads are listed instead of clicking on 'last page' click on the little v in the box at the start of the thread name. That takes you to the 1st unread post, so you need never see TPA's armpits again :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Oh well. At least with the forum being down this morning i have a sausage, potato, chickpea and veg thing with a curry sauce in the slow cooker. Smells nice even if it sounds a bit weird, and i managed to use up a few bits that were not looking nice on the outside, but i couldn't save the anaemic and mouldy broccoli unfortunately. So dinner tonight is sorted and i can chat it through with DH.

What is it with broccoli?? Unless I use it within 2 days it always goes yellow :( Stoopid stuff!! (I like it really :p)

I need to do a fridge sweep - feel a ratatouille type thing coming on - lots of peppers, tomatoies and courgettes in there - and a big bag of mushrooms that I could also throw in.... COuld stick it in the slow oven for hours :)

:rotfl: I do this one too, though in my case, it's known as the slightly less appetizing Cupboard Mess!

Sorry for butting in but I have just read what you were saying about borrowing money to put in solar panels. Please don't do it. My husband is a plumber and he fits solar panels and he has said to me quite a few times that solar panels are a false economy. I don't have any detailed figures for you but he has worked out that it takes years and years for solar panels to pay for themselves and if you are taking out a loan for them and paying interest it is not viable financially. Of course if you just want to be green that is a different matter but if you are doing it as I moneysaving exercise then I would seriously think again. There are some new panels on the market which he reckons are better than solar panels but I can't remember what he called them but I think when you have them fitted they make electricity and can put credit on your meter. It might be an idea to look into them but again I would say that the fitting of them would be expensive. If you can get free solar panels I would go for that.

If you like I could ask him for details of what he worked out but he won't be home until late.

I've just read Martin's article about the Government paying people who generate their own electricity and I think that must be what my husband was talking about. Its a very long term payback.
