Bumbling along to be Mortgage Free

I have found that I have maybe been trying to do too much in one go and may ending up giving myself a big stress attack if I am not careful. Think I might just limit myself to doing a couple of things a night (such as comps one night, dooyoo the next, alongside surveys) Well done on your challenges. I dont know how you manage it with two little ones.
I think once I am mortgage free (only another 9 years to go hopefully ) I will save for my pension as should have 20 years before I retire after that. But I hope that after a decade of scrimping and saving every last penny that life will just be that little bit easier. My boss became mortgage free last year and he says he doesnt even notice not paying it, thats called having too much money in the first place!!!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

I was not going to bed some nights until about 1am or later just to try and get everything online done. its not healthy really. Some times I get lost so much on the laptop and then I realise I have been sitting at it for about 5 or 6 hours straight! Its shocking. My back is suffering for it as well as my head!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Hiya
1/3 lb daily weight loss would mean you were daily consuming 1166 cals fewer than your body used.
I suppose really what I wanted to say is that's an incredibly hard thing to do/sustain. Not to put you off having a goal, they are very motivating, but maybe just don't give yourself a hard time if you can't because that's a heck of a lot of a calorie deficit to create!
I hope I've worded that ok and you don't think I'm criticising

I'm desperately trying to sort out the biscuit/junk addiction too, but it seems the more I think about it the worse I get...
I'm not quite sure how to break the cycle, but if you find the answer, you must let me knowMummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
I tend to eat out of boredom sometimes but one of my vices is fox's mints. I love love love them and have some in the car, in the lounge, in my bag, in my bedroom and I cant imagine its doing my teeth any good!! I walk quite a lot at the moment so that keeps the weight down but I know that wont last forever.MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Obviously i did have the teachers pension, but DH has never got round to arranging one despite me keep nudging and nagging him. He will be 30 in september so that worries me even though i know we still have ages to contribute for him, and now for me as well.
i had that worry too. i'm 24, oh is 30. he had no pension provision before this year. £150 came out of my salary every month for my shiney new teaching pension, so we've put the same amount by each month for OH.
once the house is sorted out we're going to look into putting it into a high interest regular saver to get a better return. the beauty of compound interest is that even a small amount saved regular over a long period can add up into quite a substantial sum... let'sjust hope he doesn't plan on popping his clogs any time soon!

*delurks again!*
have you thought of this route: SIPP info from wikipedia it gives quite a lot of information about what kind of investment can count as pensionable, still allowing you to regain 20% of what you paid back in lost tax IYSWIM.
Commercial property, rare coins and vintage cars can also count

Morning michelle, sorry you've been a bit down, If I were you I would leave the dieting for the moment, if you are not in the right frame of mind you are just going to feel more down if you don't succeed.
I am struggling too, I have not lost any weight and have our first holiday abroad since our honeymoon (fourteen years ago) in four weeks time.
Anyway, sending you best wishesMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Michelle hugs. Lots of exercise will help. Baby steps with the housework. How is the new bathroom? Depressing talk of pensions, we are burying our heads in the sand at the moment, I'm good with a teacher's pension (cameron not withstanding) but DH not so good pension-wise.
I'm an SAHM as its the holidays, DD2 and I are going to make jelly with strawberries in.Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
