Sounds like the end is in sight for the bathroom! Woohoo. Just think about it all being clean and sparkly and having a really long soak in the bath - lovely!

I had an email about the Treehouses too, got all excited about them and thinking of ways to make it cheaper by inviting family with us but then had a bit of a reality moment with it. They do look stunning though, will price them up when I next book breaks for us though as sometimes they do really discount some villas. We only live about 10 mins away from the Sherwood one.

Sounds like you've got some busy times ahead! But all sounds fab and love the thought of you having a lovely Christmas in your 'new' house xx

That sort of money is madness, isnt it. Not as mad as what I have been contemplating...here I am, debt free, with savings for the first time in my life, planning to OP and then I find out about some mad diet. I cant believe that I was seriously going to give it a go. Its called Alizonne and they promise spectacular results, like 5 stone in 20 weeks, which would be perfect for me.

The downside is the price, obviously. £220 per week!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek: I really do need my head examined...

sounds like the bathroom is coming along well!! I can sympathise not feeling like you have your house tho... we have a massive water leak in our ceiling at the mo which mrtyo and his dad are trying to fix...till past midnight last night and here again at 8 this morning...everything is in chaos! still...better than the roof falling in...and I will also be celebrating with some kind of bathtime pampering...once they get the water switched back on!

treehouses sounds cool but as you say by that time you might find something else you really want.... or you might have twisted hubbys arm to get him to take you! ;o)

will have to have a read back through your threads for moneysaving tips...am currently on my last paycheck this month for a while..so will need to be creative I think ....

SSL funny you should be on here this morning. I was having a bizarre dream last night where you were at my house doing DIY. Don't ask me why? I was thinking about DIY before bed, but where my brain got you from i do not know. Maybe after seeing your photos of the graduation this week on FB. You looked great by the way.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:at the thought of me doing DIY! Thank you for the compliment, but I just felt so fat and old after seeing the photos :( One of the drawbacks of being a mature student! Anyway, its spurred me on with my weight loss programme.

Enjoy your bathroom and well done on saving so much money :money: Are you going to post some pics? Either here or on FB? I'm sorry you cant get to the funeral tomorrow. Can you make it at all with the timings? Say, later on at the wake if its an afternoon funeral?

Oddly enough a lady in my department has been off with stress since easter. She's been coming in on a one day a week for about 3 weeks just to be in the building and walk round (not actually teach). So anyway she was starting to feel better about a phased return in September...then a member of staff told her that some staff members have been complaining about her coming in when she's meant to be off sick.

I really don't understand why it's anybody else's business to be honest. Although why he told her this I have no idea! Anyway it's really set her back. I genuinely think people think she's just putting it on...if you can't see it it's not real kind of thing.

somtimes playing is more important than cleaning! (or so I tell myself over and over!)
good idea budgeting for the future and possibliities such as rises in interest rates...I often find myself caught out and resentful when such things come up rather than thinking "ok I knew this was a possibilty"

gosh I couldve written everything youve said about teaching...actually scrap that, Im not a teacher! but not in a disimilar field where you give your all with little or no support and can be in quite toxic environments ....
I have seen SO many people in these fields of health, education, social care burnout from just the way it is all run...yes there are some who can treat it as a job and switch off ...and to an extent being able to set boundaries and switch off is very healthy....but at the same time there are many who dont put much "caring" into what they do either...
I totally get why seeing old colleagues in that scenario would be uncomfortable for you- much better maybe to keep in touch with the friends that are true friends, and do it at your pace and in a way you are comfortable with..

yep , weather is pants, time for a cuppa methinks

    take care
