Hi Michelle and everyone - loved reading all your posts - this has become like a Facebook for MoneySavers!
I paid off my mortgage in November 2008 and I honestly believe that if you make small adjustments EVERYWHERE like I did, and stick to a budget, you absolutely CAN DO IT!
My top budget tip is you absolutely MUST make provision in the budget for everything you spend on and don't be afraid to do a weekly budget if it helps. I get paid weekly so I do a weekly budget and divide all my expenses into weekly equivalents (a lot less scary!) - INCLUDING A WEEKLY SAVINGS AMOUNT - if you can only put aside a penny a week, put it in the budget! Then I work out what is paid on Standing Order and what is cash (including any spare), which I put in my purse, and when it's gone - its gone. If I make a cash purchase on a card for some reason I 'pay myself' from my purse to my bank account. And my parting advice - if you can't cut your expenses any further, try to up your income - OP is shining example here!:money: Dedicated disciple of MoneySavingExpert.com and Savvy MoneySaver :A

I hope your DS feels a lot better soon and the bug doesn't spread amongst you. I've never had more than one sick at once yet, and i am dreading it when it happens.
I have had my two younger ones being sick at the same time. I remember the bowl on the kitchen floor and them both leaning over it and me holding DDs hair back. arrrghhh not very nice.MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Sounds like you've had a busy day! Sounds good though.
Well done on thinking of giving the baby stuff away, think lovely you can help those around you. Hardly anyone I know is having babies so I was a bit gutted to have to get rid of most of our stuff. I've saved my moses basket and really lovely clothes just incase one of our sisters decided to go for it but I can't see it.
I love Primark. I know its not everyones thing but I do buy mine and DH's clothes from there - lots of times people will say oh I like that top or whatever and I have to smile cos I think yeah it cost £2.50! DS needs to dress like a footballer for nursery and got him totally kitted out for about £6. Oh, I fancy a mouch round Meadowhall now!
Oh, and congrats on the weight loss - well done! xxTrying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings
MFW target 2012 to save £11,000 for Over Payments/fill ISA's and reduce lots of things - outgoings, alcohol, waste, weight0 -
Hi cha, sounds like a busy day:eek:
I always used to feel like a bit of a wally whilst taking photos, now I just don't care - think of the money! Although saying that I usually use my mobile phone which is not quite so obvious.
Have you joned up to ESA? I did a lovely job at a shop rhyming with TEXT today for them. Their pay is much better than RE and fairly straight forward. They pay you than add on anything you purchase (up to the agreed limit) so it works out better. The first time a read details about them I thought the fee wasn't too bad then I realised they paid for the purchase on top:j

It isn't too late yet. I haven't been taken on by OCR for moderation, which is a bummer as I said no to AQA to do it. I am doing AS marking though (over half term, joy!).
