Bumbling along to be Mortgage Free

hi Michelle,
Glad to hear you had a good time. I made my first ever mortgage OP on saturday so am thinking of what total to aim for etc. I envy shop and scan people as I'm on the Nielsson shopping scanner which offers points for scanning and is no-where near as good (from what I can work out of shop and scan).
You are def not the first mum to have such an accident - years ago I ended up hanging onto the arm of a toddler who fell between the step and platform edge when his mum had her hands full getting her buggy off. She had the buggy, and got off with it - intending to turn round for him I assume but he followed her. I was on the train and a man was on the platform, both of us saw him fall and grabbed at him. We ended up holding bits of her child and attempting to free him without dropping him onto the track. The poor mum could only watch our efforts for the time it took us to free him and lift him to the platform. Toddlers are surprisingly heavy to lift up like that - I was so glad the man grabbed him too.
Anyway I should stop waffling about it. Night all.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Glad it helped reassure you. Accidents are called accidents because they don't happen on purpose. As you say the important thing is that you are OK.
Is there a place I can sign up as an MFW and set a target? I can only see MFIT challenge threads and am not going to make mortgage freedom any time soon.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Oh Michelle I welled up when I read about the little accident. Blame the pregnancy hormones! How awful for you all. It makes us feel so guilty too when things like that happen but the amount we do for our children things are bound to happen every now and then.
I'm exactely the same for logging on this site when I've been out for the day. Gawd knows what I'm expecting to find that so exciting and couldnt wait but it's an adiction!0 -
I haven't even atempted any journeys with a buggy ye but I am not looking forward to it, it definately wasn't your fault, accidents happen when you are so loaded down.

The buggy was heavily loaded and took a forward tumble onto the platform and i ended up falling over the top of it, although somehow managed luckily not to land on it. Poor DS2 was asleep in the buggy at the time, and somehow managed to only get a bust lip in this freaky accident, but was quite badly shocked, as was i. So i ended an enjoyable family event by trying to chuck my child under a train. Boy do i feel like the worlds worst mother. He is a trooper today and not even mentioned it hurting, whereas my knees have locked up like i'm 90 due to walking in silly shoes and landing on them, but i daren't whinge too much. All the mums in the family made me feel better though by saying it could have been any of them that had done it and no-one reported me to childline. I think a train full of passengers got a shock though and might sue me.Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
