Got my first mystery shop on Thursday!!!!! Thru RE
Did my first for them a month ago, not been paid, took a point off me, no feedback, no reply to email and no one has returned my calls. Not happy ! I'm an experienced MS so I cant imagine what I did wrong as none of my other companies have ever done this to me.I'm wondering why a round pizza comes in a square box - :rolleyes:0 -

I must admit that I haven't yet come across this store and I am registered with 10 or 11 of the main companies (I don't count BARE as I believe that I live in a kind of parallel universe where I can see them but they are blissfully unaware of my existence :rotfl:like a kind of MSing two-way mirror, I like to think).
It would be a good store to do as there are so many departments you could probably do several jobs a month for them.
My thoughts exactly!
This is also why I like Aba-i as I get to do lots and they are fun and easy0 -

Don't put up with thay nonsense. Ring them up and ask what the problem is. I am no fan of theirs but usually they are nice to speak to on the dog and bone.Clique member no 1.:D0 -

Well thats the trouble HB, I did ring, got a recorded message saying no one in office, left message for call back and didnt get one. Loathed to spend even more money phoning again. Think Ill just have to put it down to experience Im afraid.I'm wondering why a round pizza comes in a square box - :rolleyes:0 -
Ideally have a phone with camera and voice recorder.
Get into the habit of always taking a pic of the shop including the buildings either side.
Get into the habit of noting times every time you walk in and out of a shop.
It's easy to forget staff names, so get into the habit of using them. "Hi Jenny can I have a burger please?" How much is that Jenny?" "Thanks Jenny" that way you remember.
Never take change and receipt in one hand and stuff it away. Receipts get lost easily, make a habit of immediately folding it away somewhere safe.
I found that getting into the above three habits makes misery shopping a lot easier.
Good luck to you mate, I'm sure everything will go ok.
This is good advice. I have a phone with a voice recorder so I like to hang my headphones with my microphone around my neck and record the entire shop. It means I can listen back to get exact timings and for those "how did the person greet you" questions I have it all recorded!
The only ones it doesn't work for are the phone shops0 -
Just a question , not a moan / criticism or anything ! , are you actually allowed to record someone without telling them first ?0
-
Not for personal reasons-ie if you are doing a shop and it's part of brief to record it you can as it is the client's staff and on their premises and at their specific request but if you recorded a visit that wasn't briefed to be recorded you'd be on very shaky ground legally.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

Thats what I thought , thanks for clarifying it .0 -

I am not qualified to give legal advice.
However, my understanding of the law is that you are allowed to record a conversation if one party to the conversation gives consent. As you are one party then you are allowed to.
This is not the same as eavesdropping and recording other peoples conversations, because neither party will have given consent.
In the context of shopping, if I have a recorder switched on so I can reord notes to myself "two members of staff, eight customers, pool of water on floor etc etc., and a member of staff interrupts me and says "Good morning, how may I help you today?" and my recorder picks that up..... well I got lucky.0
