I'm sure your accounts will be fine! I make a point of rounding all my spends up in my head, so when I come to look at my account I always have more than I thought. Hard to when you're keeping a spending diary though!
Better a grumpy woman at 20 than one at 18! I knew it was getting bad when I started watching grumpy old men/women and agreeing with them at 16!
Still no letter from Tescos about my online account, hoping it comes tomorrow or I'll have to mentally put the money to one side, which is never a good thing as I'll more than likely forget :rolleyes:0 -
My accounts are good and bad! One of them had £35 in, due to my OH paying in some money. But the overdraft one is now at £1070 which is very bad! I transferred £30 from the good account to the bad one. Payday in 2 days! :T Sorry, I'm taking over your diary with my own money stuff!
Ha, I like that programme! I like a good soapbox rant every now and then. The last one was the unfairness of young people with babies getting houses so quickly, when I have to wait and save! [As seen in my diary]
Hopefully the Tesco online account stuff will come soon, cuz it's definately more helpful physically moving the money away rather than mentally! Is it a Tesco Internet Saver, or your credit card?
I was applying for a Tesco Internet Saver cuz they had quite good interest rates. But I now have 3 Lloyds Internet Savers. Dunno why I have so many cuz I have nothing to put in them! :rolleyes:Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Don't worry, I don't think you're taking over! Nice to have someone else posting on here with me!
It's for the credit card, I think I'll just move it over into my savings on friday then I can pull it back out if I don't get the letter tomorrow. I only sent off for it Sunday, so there's a chance it might not come until next week.
I keep on getting tempted by various savers, but I just have my abbey esaver and my ISA. Is the £1070 your OD? At least you've got it down by £30! Are you still aiming to be DF by your 21st?
Just been looking at Thorpe Park, looks so fun! Would only be £17.50 each to get in, but I know OH won't fully enjoy himself.. Urgh! The other option is stopping off at one or two National Trust houses along the way then spending the £35 on a nice pub meal when we get there. Just about to spread out on the floor with maps and books and what not!
ETA: Got it sorted! Going to stop at Audley End House on the way down, then we'll be at the travelodge for check in then time to get some tea before I beg OH to let me watch Big Brother. I am that sad! My Grandad gave me £20 for the trip and told me too 'get him a drink' so I'll bring him some kind of Kentish brew back. Bless him!0 -
Morning! :hello:
Already got the sicky excited nervy feeling about going away. Will not be able to focus this morning!
Got an email from LuxuryHair about their half price sale on Tigi shampoos, I'm getting to the end of my big bottles and with their offer the tween 750ml sets are working out cheaper per ml than highstreet brands. Plus the one I want makes you hair smell like skittles! Pretty tempted! I'll see what my bank account looks like on Monday.
Taking one of the Topshop dresses back, so that'll knock £25 off my CC. Wont be taking it with us when we go away because it'll be all too tempting to use. Best left at home me thinks! Will still be making a £20 payment to it so it *should* be down to £75 by next week. Hoping to have it paid off by the end of July rather than August now.0 -
Morning Cinny,
When do you go away? I know what you mean, I always get nervous before doing anything like that, I'm nervous now and we don't go til 10pm on Saturday. I think because it's my last day at work though I'm all giddy trying to get stuff done.
Well done for taking the dress back and not just leaving it to gather dust in the wardrobe! Will be ace if you can clear the card by August, then are you using it again for something for your mum did you say?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
We set off tomorrow morning about 8ish. I get terrible homesickness so I've been overloading on my family the past few days, I think they're sick of the sight of me. I can't blame you for getting excited though, I'm pretty jealous of your holiday! All the lovely sunshine, it's meant to rain all weekend in Kent  Fun!
Yep, we're taking her to London for her birthday treat! I'm splitting the costs with my sister but I said I'd buy it on my card then she can pay back her half whenever, tickets should only be about £90 if I can book them soon enough. Planning on paying it all back myself, then when my sister gives me her half I can put it towards spends for the day. Thinking if me and my sister can get £100 together spends wise for the day we'll be able to really spoil her, mums do need treating! My only problem is, I treat my mum to that then what do I get my Dad?! Surely a dvd and a bag of sweets is gonna look pretty poor next to that!0 -
Good idea about paying it off then using your sister's half as spends, that way you don't need to worry where that money's going to come from. Dads (men in general actually) are sooo hard to buy for!! No ideas from me I'm afraid!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Thinking discounted hotel room for a few nights? In York or somewhere, my parents don't get enough breaks! Will have to keep an eye out on the grabbit boards for any offers. Plus if I can get my brother and sister in on it we could put some money in a pot so their spends will be basically covered, hmm! I'm getting way a head of myself here, their birthdays are in October! Although last year I had their birthday presents sorted in June
ETA: Just got my payslip for tomorrow, £2 more than I thought! I know it isn't much but still, better than it being less. Figure I can move £50 into savings in the morning (£20 for CC and £30 to stay put) take £50 out the bank for spends, and still have £60 in my bank account incase we need it. Won't be as tight as I thought!0 -
Good idea about moving the money to your savings temporarily.
Yep the £1070 was my overdraft. It now stands at £1040, woo... I do plan on being debt-free by my 21st, which is 26th March. And *being optimistic* I think I can still do it. I just need to put the card away and not use it, only pay stuff off it!
Glad you got your trip sorted! Tis nice of you to put your OH's feelings about Thorpe Park before your own. Bless your Grandad! Grandparents are so nice aren't they
P.S Is Big Brother actually good this year?! I usually watch it but haven't this year - I don't even know any of their names! There doesn't seem to be as much coverage of it as usual in the media.
ETA - I would go for the TIGI shampooYou did take the Topshop dress back so you could use the money you saved taking that back. Or something like that!

There doesn't Zig, I thought that. The papers normally have an article in every day reviewing the previous day's antics, but this year nothing. Even my grandma's not watching it and that's saying something!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
