Hi Cinny
Just found this diary when doing a search on my name. Good for you getting so organised. Dinah's effect has worn off but not to me yet, I'm still rubbish at organising myself. I'll maybe look at EarlyLearner and contact them about their spreadsheets.
Good luck with the diary xxLet's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:Virgin CC £9793.710 -
Dragging this diary up again as I'm now in official debt.
£120 on my Tesco CC. £20 of it is money I lent to my sister but I'm classing it as my debt, because technically on paper it is and because I don't really mind if she doesn't pay me back. It was for a dress in the Topshop sale and she'd had a truely rubbish week with work so needed alittle pick me up. The rest of the money is £37 on various topshop things for me (serious lack of self control) and £63 holiday deposit for December.
Hoping the internet account for the CC will be set up by the end of the weekend, then I can start the PAD challenge or something of the like to just keep on top of it. I'm aiming to clear it *soon* but it'll no doubt go up over the weekend, finally got my little holiday in Kent so I'm taking it as back up incase we need anything. By anything I mean a Bronze Winston Churchill bust, you can never be too sure!
The CC is 0% interest until next June but I'm setting myself the target of clearing it all by the end of August. Plus I need it clear for booking my Mums London birthday treat (just train tickets) I figure as long as I keep ontop of it all, and don't go out of my depth (like paying all this off before booking anything else) I should be okay. Not very MSE but hey, I'm getting clubcard points! :rolleyes:0 -
I have a Tesco CC, and I actually think they're pretty good! It's easy to pay money off it whenever you like whereas with another card I had, you had to ring up which was very annoying.
Be careful though that you don't get into the habit of putting things on it (i.e. topshop!) and saying to yourself you'll pay it off later, but don't get round to it so it builds up. I'm sure you're not as stupid as me, but that's what I did! Roll on 1 year and £2k of debt
But anyway, £37 in Topshop isn't bad at all! And a backup for emergencies (winston churchill bust?!) whilst on holiday isn't a bad idea.Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

The topshop money was a bit silly I know but I won't be using it for anything like that again! I was just testing it to see if it worked..
From now on it's just going to be for the 'bigger' things like holidays and whatnot.
Going to pay about £15 or so off it this weekend, with going to Kent I don't want to cripple myself with savings or payments as it'll have a backwards effect and just = me reaching for the CC. Next weekend I'll be able to sort out budgets and payments and what not.
I have to say, while it's been fun spending without feeling guilty. I've kind of missed budgets and spreadsheets and lists. Such a geek!0 -

Ha, I like that 'testing' idea!
I love lists too, and having a diary on here too. So useful to go back through if I need to know something money-wise. I haven't got round to a spreadsheet yet though. Do you have to update yours (spreadsheet) a lot?Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

I just updated my old one weekly, It was a bit of a mess to be fair! Sprawled all over the page, budgets, wages, savings and then a way too long bit at the bottom that was my spends!
Getting all stressy over the HPV vaccine after work today. I know a jab in the arm (or 3!) is a tiny price to pay to lessen my chances of getting cervical cancer, but still. Needles! It's just started raining too, at least it has 1 hour or so to pass before I finish.0 -
I hate needles too so I feel your pain!
When I had the contraceptive implant removed (out my arm) I thought to myself 'I'm never gonna moan about a normal injection again' cuz it was awful! They have to inject you to numb it, then make a cut to try and find the implant to try and pull it out. Except she couldn't find it, so had to make a bigger hole and rummage around and the numbing wasn't working properly. I was traumatised!
So don't worry, as they say 'you'll feel a little scratch'.
P.S How come I haven't been offered this jab?! Maybe 20 is too old..Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

You've put me off my morning snack Zig! I was okay with injections at school, while all the girls were crying over the TB jab the nurse told me 'thats the first smile I've seen all day' I think I'm just nervy about this one cause I'm going all on my own! Even with holiday jabs I had my sister there for comfort. Still, I've guilted her into picking me up from work so at least I've saved some petrol money.
I think they're moving the age bracket up each year? Last year I fell just outside it and got a letter out of the blue a few weeks ago with lots of dates to pick from for the first jab.
ETA: Just looked at my online banking and it isn't all that scary. £63 left this week after buying almost everything in sight and all the DDs have cleared. At least that means I'll be left with about £100 in the bank after board, savings and paying some off the CC. Means I won't have to use the credit card while we're away afterall!0 -
Hiya, just noticed this is back up and running again! £120 isn't too bad at all and you should easily get that paid off before booking your mum's traing tickets, do you think? I agree with Zig though, do be careful as it does mount up, I know!
I looked at my bank this morning and was also pleasantly surprised, still got £300 and I've already taken out my spending money for the hols and it's only a week to payday when I get back. So I bought a new game for my DS
Hope the jabs go OK, big brave soldier remember!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Lol sorry!
Hopefully I'll fall in the age bracket soon then. That's good news that you won't need to use your CC when you're away
Wish I had that much money a week before payday Tete! What DS game did you buy? I bought the EA Active fitness thing for the wii recently but haven't played it yetTotal Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21
