Earnt £10 last night clearing my Dads truck out (looks all shiney and new!) so put that towards taking my mum out on Saturday. We've decided to go for a McDonalds (classy!) instead of a Pizza Express because my mum want's the green coke glasses they're giving out this week. Can't complain! Will have an hour in Meadowhall alone though so I'll have to find a way to busy myself without spending much money!

Got my board out yesterday and paid the last £7 off my credit card so whatever is in my bank come Friday is mine to play with. Skipping savings this week just to cover my back over direct debits for the end of the month.

Going to my Grandparents after work today, Grandpa is going to help me completely clean one of the vans we're going to sell on. Should get about £5 for it, but if I don't it's still a free dinner right?

Going to have a rummage through my wardrobe tonight and try to find something to wear for the family dinner tomorrow, I took the DP dress back because I couldn't see myself wearing it much after the dinner, saved £20! I have a suitcase under my bed that's filled with dresses I've bought and never worn so there has to be something in there!

Lara - I haven't looked into the courses anymore, really can't afford it atm! My Dad says once things pick up at work and if I still want to do it they'll see about funding me to do accounts. No luck on the second job either, was looking Tuesday afternoon and couldn't find a thing. Keeping my eyes peeled though.

Oh no about the texts! Could you change your contract if you think that might happen again? I pay 15 a months and get 2000 texts.

Well done on taking the dress back at least that helps towards having some more money.

Shame about the job but keep looking out

Aww, shame. Is accountancy stuff quite expensive to study? What about a baking course just for pleasure?

Around our way evening classes are around £200 for a year-long course (3 terms the same as school). Sometimes there are a tiny few things that are actually cheaper in London!

Sounds like you have a fab day planned with your Mum x

Can you apply for a grant to go a course? I think because you're part time you'll earn little enough to qualify for financial aid. Check the grants section on here, it's always worth a try isn't it?!

Wendz - Who are you with? I only have 3 months left on contract so I'm going to get a PAYG with a sim deal or something, I've seen one for t-mobile that's £15 a month for 300mins and unlimted texts. Need to get a new mobile too, my Blackberry isn't fairing too well! But I figure I can get a cheap one from Asda or something.

Lara - The other office girl is going into her second year of accounts and she says it's going to be about £800, I think the first year was £600ish? Is it the baking course things that were £200ish? Might be fun to do something like that, take my mind off things at work at least!

I'll have a look into grants though, thanks Birdie!

Wow that is a lot of money, esp if you have to pay it in one chunk! I guess it's not the kind of course where you get paid to study either? (I don't know if this is a regional thing, some 16-18 year olds here get about £30 per week to continue studying - don't know the ins and outs, only going on what I've seen in ads, grr, never like that in my day, I had a £20-a-week Saturday job!)

Well done on taking the dress back, iron will or what?! What about the shoes?

I didn't get any shoes in the end, it was another reason why I took the dress back, can't really justify £20 on a pair of shoes to go with a dress I'll hardly wear. (check me out!) Need to get back to my MS ways for next month, need to save for the holiday and what not.

Yeah, I think it's £30 a week but I'm a year too old for that now, and for free collegeness. Ho-hum!

Looking for cheap t-mobile phones now, got till November so I've just got to keep an eye out!

Actually I thought the £30 learning grants went up to 19 so you might to able to squeeze a year in? Check it out missy!

I thought it was up to 19 too.

My contract is with o2, has been nogiated down in money and up in texts/minutes every year lol. I am sure you could find a good deal though that will save you money in the longrun.
