I think that if Martin is thinking of holding regular official partys then the venue should be different each year ie London and Manchester alternately

I'm all for a saturday all day (great idea MLC) meet as people then have more options some may only be able to come during day, or later on

I think more discussion is needed on the date, May is a popular time for holidays abroad

Further, if Martin is considering the official meet in Manchester this year we could combine a day out together with the official party later

And I've already started my swapbox :P

Argh! That's the only date that I'm fully booked - a friend's wedding! Maybe I could persuade her not to get married? Or to have her wedding reception with the MSE crowd?

I would LOVE to come to a meet in Manchester. I've already got 2 Saturdays off work in May for a hen weekend and a wedding so wouldn't be allowed another :(

I could always come after work if you're planning to party into the night ;D
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

the swapbox that glad is talking about is jsut a box of junk that she doesnt want that other people might. last time I dragged along a load of freebies that i decided i didnt really have a use for and a few unwanted pressies and we just all passed everything around. quite a few people had contributions but even those that didnt were forced to take something home as a momento :D it was quite good fun and meant that my home is now less cluttered (although i acquired a lovely reflexology kit :D)

MLC, you know you wouldn't let me bring my cats last time, so I wore my hat and tiara - would it be ok if this time I bring my tambourine and wear my fairy wings?

o o o, I've got fairy wings too. We could all wear them so us newcomers recognise each other ;D ;D

How nice it would be to see all the boys in fairy wings ;D

    No - bring the cats instead :o ;D ;D

    (only kidding!!)

The tambourine's OK as long as we don't start looking like some kind of Christian folk outfit.  As for the fairy wings, i'll be sitting in the opposite corner of the pub pretending that I don't know anybody ;D ;D
