16 votes more in favour of London is not a crushing victory over Manchester especially when the people who actually posted mostly seem to favour Manchester. The vote is surely close enough to justify holding the party in Manchester and possibly returning to London next year or somewhere completely different.
Anyway what happens at the party, the usual stuff or does it have some sort of theme or speakers along the lines of the site?0 -
Hello Alwaysatwork
Martin and Andrea haven't told us what to expect at the next MSE party yet.
Mr & Mrs Nile went to the London party last year, which celebrated the first year of the mse web site and the launch of Martin's first book.......The Money Diet.
Some of the highlights of the London party (on 25/03/04) were:
Meeting Martin...........after queuing for three days ages::) ;D
Getting your copy of The Money Diet signed by Martin
Watching some of the regulars get up on stage to reveal their faces and true identities..........where is Laminki?
Meeting lots of lovely MSE regulars and newbies
A welcome free drink.........Smirnoff Ice in my case 8)
Free fortune cookies..........which I opened but didn't eat
Free massage....................not for me
Roulette wheel......I think :-/.........not for me
I have to say (persuade you?), if you're not sure about going to the party.............you must. You'll have a brilliant time and will meet some really lovely people.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. You'll have a brilliant time and will meet some really lovely people.
...and you might even meet Nile! Oh, what I mean, of course, is that Nile is one of those really lovely people!
(You know I love ya really, Nile, just got that Friday feeling! ;D)

Hi folks
I've been musing the party. To be honest I've spent much of the budget on the Tsunami and feel its a little inappropriate to start to organise one at the moment.
How about we hold off until the summer and do one then - i may try and coincide it (fingers crossed if all goes well) with the site hitting a landmark of members e.g. 200,000 or 250,000.

Even though I live in London .... I would say Manchester ...... as there has been a London meet already :-/ And I think it is a good idea to delay it till summer ..... better weather ... and those going to the other meets won't have to run around from meet-to-meet.
On the summer front ...... can we have the meet at a beach ;DI can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0 -
Party in Manchester - yes
Party in the summer - maybe :-/........but would we lose a lot of interested people who will be abroad on hols?
Party in the autumn - may be a better choice?
Party on a Thursday night - no.........not again, why not a Friday or Saturday night?
