I am well aware of what estimated interest is, I have a brain!
Exactly when in that post did I say that this was anything to do with balance transfer fees!!hchalk wrote:it's looks as if they are still going to try and charge us the transfer fee by the back door in the guise of an interest charge!!
Hm, if you're positive about the BT int free period it must be something else. I suppose in theory they may have applied the fee, then reversed it. The fees count as a 'purchase', so I guess it may be potential interest on the fee. Although if the fees being refunded I guess that'll sort the interest out.0 -
Not sure if this is the right place to post or if this has been mentioned before!
Amazon are doing a promotion for their credit card and will offer a Gift Voucher after the first purchase, no minimum spend required.
Planning to apply spend a penny, then close the account. OK, it does affect your credit rating, but it's 15 pounds for nought!0 -
This has been highlighted by Martin before in his credit cards article. Still worth mentioning though, as it's quite a good deal. Also if you keep using the card you'll collect points (1 point per £ at Amazon, half a point per £ everywhere else), once you get 1500 points you get another £15 amazon voucher. I'm still using mine, nearly due my second voucher. :-)No reliance should be placed on the above.0

doesn that essentially make it a cashback card (0.5% everywhere, but 1% at amazon), but limited to getting your cashback until you spend either £1500 at amazon or £3000 everywhere else...
doesnt sound that good to me tbh"Getting Married" - The act of betting half of everything you own on the fact you will love someone forever :rotfl:0 -

Yep, its hard to get decent cashback anywhere these days! If you arent too worried about having a credit check on you, I think its worth getting the card, spending once, get the Amazon voucher and chop the card up! :beer:0 -
Hi,
Sorry to bring up an old thread but I thought it would be better than creating a new one.
Does anyone know how long it takes for a card to arrive after signing the relevent forms and sending them back? Also how long it takes to get a voucher email once you make a purchase on it?
Its my girlfriends birthday in a week and I sent the forms back around 10 days ago. I want to buy her something using the voucher but time is ticking away and its getting quite close to the last delivery date now.
Many thankyou's if you can help!0 -

You have no chance.
Once you have got the card and used it, I think you get a statement before you get the discount code. So this is obviously not going to happen in time for a birthday next week.0 -
yesterday I got a letter from Amazon saying that as a gesture of goodwill they are waivering thr BT fee as there was too much of a gap bw getting the card and receiving the letter about the fees.
I can only assume it is thanks to you guys who would not give up. Thank you.

I have just had a letter from them to say that they have been calculating my points incorrectly, and they're very sorry! Thanks to all who post constructively.
Have an A1 day!0 -
I got the letter too. I hope it was not just those who complained but everyone in the same boat. I guess we will never know.
I paid off my full balance at the beginning of last month to avoid interest. Three weeks later they still took off the minimum payment. Apparently if you do not tell them they do not know a payment has been made. Two weeks ago I contacted them and they agreed to send out a cheque for the credit balance. I'm still waiting for it. Apparently the relevant form has been passed to the relevant department. Apparently big power computers that can process many thousands of payments a day cannot return a payment to an account who details they must know to make the direct debit in the first place. Anyway that is another story. I'm glad this one is finished with.0
