Amazon Credit Card free Voucher

They have to inform you as they may in future use the recording to play to a 3rd party. If you are just recording it yourself and don't intend to play to a 3rd party, then you are arguably OK.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
Recently applied fro an amazon credit card, having read a tip on mse (can't find it now), thought I was going to get a £15 e-voucher once I had used the card. They are now saying I get a £15 voucher once I have spent £1500, did I imagine this or am I being hoodwinked? Sorry if I have put this on the wrong place, if anyone knows the answer, would really appreciate it.If it seems too good to be true, it probably is, unless its from this forum!0

According to the information on this link you get a £15 voucher for every 1500 points you accrue. However as an introductory offer you get 1500 points following your first purchase (on your first statement).

That's how rich I want to be.
But until then - best wishes - Mike.

Thanks for all the info on recording telephone calls.
One would hope that when the recording is played back to the other party, they would accept their mistake along with the consequences. I'm pleased to say that after playing the recording to them they have now agreed to remove the charges, which saves me the hassel of going to the ombudsman. The legality points that were raised are very interesting, and its also interesting to note that Offtel, the phone regulator, record calls made to them but choose not to inform the other party. To get round this they simply put a bit on their Website saying that calls may be recorded, but obviously if you haven't looked at their Website you wouldn't know this.
What is quite clear from all this is that a lot of people were told no charges would apply when making the application, but are now being charged 2% of the balance transferred. Keep complaining, because they should not get away with it.0 -
I've had a call from Amazon and they are not charging any transfer fees up to end of September. I hope they are making this apply to everyone and not just the ones that complained.
The right result in the end but I am dissapointed that Halifax tried to make us pay for their mistake in the first place. I am also dissapointed that Amazon did not want to get involved. I will be dumping the Amazon card soon. Anyone know of a good alternative to Amazon.co.uk so I can dump them too?0 -
I have just had my amazon statement through. Although they are not charging the balance transfer fee a "Minimum Interest" box has now appeared for 50p! it's looks as if they are still going to try and charge us the transfer fee by the back door in the guise of an interest charge!!
Does anyone have a copy of the revised terms and consitions where they can check whether a minimum interest charge is quoted??

H,
The t&c say that 50p will be charged if the interest is between 1p and 50p.
A note for all Amazon Credit Cards taken out in April
There was only 6 months interest free on purchases and 9 months on balance transfer. Depending on exactly when your card was issued you may have run out of your 6 month purchase period.
If you have taken a balance transfer AND made purchases then all the devious credit card companies use any payments you have made to pay off the balance transfers first. That means you start paying interest on your purchases at the end of the 6 month period. If you have made purchases and a balance transfer then my advice is that you pay off everything before the purchases introductory end date.0 -
But the interest wont be between 1p and 50p because it will be zero!!0
-
If it's telling you an estimated interest amount it means you are/have come to the end of an interest free period for a portion/all of your balance. It's nothing at all to do with balance transfer fees.0
-
Actually call centre monkey, my interest free period has not/is not coming to an end and as I have only ever done one balance transfer onto this card I don't see how they could have calculated exactly 50p estimated interest on a balance of £2k!!!
I am well aware of what estimated interest is, I have a brain!
Exactly when in that post did I say that this was anything to do with balance transfer fees!!0
