Tesco - Parent/Child + disabled car spaces

Why would anyone want or need more than one space to park car ?
unless they were;-
1. A bad driver
2. Exceedingly obese
3 Deliberately difficult
4. Selfish
Or a combination of all the above.
Or maybe they are a disabled driver, who can't get in a disabled space because a parent has parked there, because all the P&C spaces are full?0 -
However, I would point that on occasions I have gone to one supermarket, found all the P&C spaces to be full, and taken the decision to go to another supermarket.
Heck - would you and your children have starved before there were any P&C spaces?
How do you manage if you go for a day out, or to a car park where there are no P&C spaces? How do you think other people with children manage? Or fat people? Or people with large cars?
Life must be a struggle.0 -

I was fortunate that P&C spaces had been 'invented' by the time my kids came along so I didn't have to face that 'problem'. However I'm not sure why that should be an excuse for a lazy ignoramus to park in a space that they know full well they shouldn't park in?The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

Ok so this is still going. Having had a beer or two, I probably shouldn't post. But I've had a beer or two so I will. Firstly will all these people telling us how they managed before the days of parent and child spaces for god sake get over themselves. Its just boring! Times have changed. Get over it!!!!!! For the better as well. Look i regularly go to the supermarket without child and I wouldn't dream of parking in a P&C space or a disabled one. Before I had a child I also didn't dream of using one of said spaces. I did what every one else did, because that is the rules. The rules laid out by the owners of the land. Like several people have said, just because it isn't illegal doesn't mean it is right. Unfortunately the are a lot of _____ (please fill in appropriate derogatary four letter word) who have no sense of decency and hide behind rights as an excuse for their sorry existence.0

I recently visited Tesco and was surprised to actually find a space in a parent & child bay, but that's not the point of this post. A couple of spaces along the P&C bay was occupied by a Police vehicle, a long wheelbase Land Rover.
It took a few minutes for my wife and I to get our two children out, in which time the officer returned to his car. He remained in the car while he ate his recently purchased sandwich.0 -
boo hoo, blub blub.0

Tesco suggest we use disabled spaces, but don't disabled people need those? There are also plenty of people who abuse these. However, what is the point of having special spaces for people who need them
Thank you for this :T it's nice to see a considerate parent who doesn't think they are automatically entitled to a disabled space because there aren't any mum & child spaces left...
The inconsideration of people is precisely why I shop online nowadays... that & bloody tourist season... don't ever move to the seaside if you want to keep your blood pressure low!!'Beauty fades; dumb is forever.' - Judge Judy Sheindlin:rotfl:0 -
I have 2 young children one of whom is disabled. I need the extra space at the side of a car to get them out of their car seats.
Had an slight discussion with a young single man who thought it was OK to park in one of the M&C spaces, most of them were filled with disabled and cars with no child seats, he was just leaving his car to enter the store when i pulled up. I asked him in a nice manner to find a non reserved spot, he told me not so nicely he could park where he wanted! I waited till he went into the store and i parked over the back of his car so he couldnt go anywhere.
His face at customer services was a picture when he came back in to ask the person who had blocked him in to please move.
Told him a) I could park where i liked
b)there was no way i could leave the kids in the trolley unattended while i move the car
c) no way on this planet could i remove an autistic child from trolley, leave store move car, re enter store.
Luckily for him i didnt need that much, only held him up 20 min
Pathetic, probably! But places are there for a purpose, those of you that managed without "well done" bet those of you who are grandparents use them!!
Disabled places - they are there for a reason, dont abuse them. My son has a blue badge, if he is in his disability stroller them i dont use them, rather use mother & baby, if he is walking, i do use them for his safety incase he runs over the car park!BR date 18/11/090 -
Sorry, but although I sypathise with you, I think you have just proved you are as bad and as petty as he is
