  • im not 100% but i think the tenent has to contact the council to say they now want the rent to be paid direct to the LL thats what my aunt had to do but this was going back 2yrs now so good luck in getting your over due rent paid to you

    My rent is always paid on the dot.
    It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not.

    OP, have you considered that once (if!) the arrears are paid off to the point where she owes less than 8 weeks worth the LA might revert payments of LHA to the tenant?

    He might have been a bit trusting etc, but his tenant is the one that is in the wrong. Would you want someone in your property that didnt pay their way. He is only trying to make a bit of a living!! Many of us are on a low income, but I would certainly try to make sure my rent and council tax is paid so that I have at least got a roof over my kids head.
