While I wouldn't put it the way Dave101t has, it does illustrate the reason why so many LLs refuse to rent to people on benefits.

"Do I need to let my landlord know I am claiming HB"

or

"Why can't I rent a house from a private landlord when I claim DSS?"

It does, I guess, but anyone can get into arrears and this person has because she is a bad sort and/or bad at prioritising her finances, not because she is on benefits!
